Salient points of Asa's talk at C.S.I.S., Washington (summary):

--America should and will continue to welcome mass after mass, wave after wave, of immigrant.

--The (rest their souls, nevertheless) individuals found dead in a Texas truck smuggled into the US were "immigrants".

--Asa discussed only the issue of controlling to keep terrorists out. NARY a word of controlling illegal alien entry, nor any condemnation of it, nor strategy to plug those massive holes.

--Line after line after line about how immigrants contributed to America. But basically, as a result, putting LEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL immigrants, (as long as they are not terrorists) in the same cherished box to be praised.

--Detailed discussion about new biometrics/fingerprints, etc. to be used in scanning foreign entrys at ports and airports. Nary a discussion about the thousands and thousands who use routes outside of these established Ports of Entry and are primarily non-terrorists but illegal aliens nonetheless.

I took away from this speech that the policy talking points of the Administration are that legal and illegal immigration distinctions are or should disappear. I found this talk extremely disheartening.

What did you expect?

One of the largest cocaine importers in the history of the country operated out of his jurisdiction while a US District Attorney in Arkansas and Asa never laid a finger on ole Barry Seal and the boys. He's a go along get along guy if ever there was one.

You might want to take a look at this. Has Asa been confronted on this issue?

When in the hell is someone in authority - other than Tom Trancredo, who has been villified - admit that we are being invaded and the illegals (That means against the law, doesn't it?) are bankrupting the system? I am SO SICK OF THIS!!!

Stay in this "Two-Party Cartel" & get this type of treatment. Only ten years of saying the same old thing & NOTHING has changed. Change ONLY happens when you vote outside of it & break the cartel.

the admin pubbies don't want to do anything to offend mexican voters before the next election. they want to raise the number of Mexican Americans voting republican in the next election.

don't know if soft border policies will do the pubbies any good. it hasn't in the past.

the governor of california is currently on the skids not because of anything has or has not done vis a vis the border. so the admin pubbies think they have a shot at california in the next election.

Makes me wanna throw up. They will beggar this nation. To be so tolertant of illegal aliens when there is a recession is an outrage. These WashDC poobahs are way too insulated from the consequences of their actions.

It's not like ASA didn't get an earful when he visited the border area:

Aguilar says illegal immigration is under control; some disagree

My blood boils dangerously high at seeing this crap every darn day.

I cringe when I imagine the magnitude of the tragic situation on US soil we are in for before TPTB finally gets their act togetner.

It seems to me that every politician (with very few exceptions) is avoiding the illegals issue and I don't think it will ever be addressed by a sitting president because they want the Latino vote.

Furthermore, how can we go after terrorisim in other countries when we continue to allow anyone into our own country?

I live in Arizona and saw this story on local tv, complete with a demonstration of the drone. Feel better?

Homeland Security Officials Consider Drone Patrols Over Border

Excerpt:

Unmanned drone aircraft have worked well in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now the Homeland Security Department is thinking about using them along the U.S.-Mexican border.

The drones could be used to track drug smugglers, illegal immigrants and terrorists. Arizona's congressional delegation is in favor of them, along with Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge.

Well I see its that time of day for the Tancredo knee jerks to pop up. When Mexicans start flying planes into our buildings maybe there will be reason to go ballastic over illegal aliens in relation to Homeland Defense. But until then I think you're just being ridiculous.

Seems to me there are a bunch of Americans out there too frightened to compete against uneducated third worlders who cant even speak the language. Maybe you guys should have paid attention in school if you are at that much of a disadvantage.

Bottom line... in my opinion someone is making money from this situation, and they are doing a damned fine job of concealing the truth behind it.

I don't buy for a minute the line that they are productive, and perform the jobs Americans won't do. That crap is nothing but bovine scatology in its finest form. There are too many of them living off the public dole, and clogging the judicial system, here in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia to dispell these productive claims.

Nor do I subscribe to the fact that the Dumbocraps are using it to feed their voter roles. If this were the case then one would assume the Republicans would have put a stop to this a long time ago.

There is something about this nation's across-the-board policy of allowing illegal aliens to freely cross into this country, and it smells like rotten fish. As Rush always says.... "follow the money trail".

There is money being made here, and we are paying the price. I just wish I knew who and why.
