Anyone Just Hear a TERRIBLE Presentation by Homeland Defense's Hutchinson IGNORING Illegal Aliens?

Anyone else just hear a replay of a talk earlier today (19 May) by former Congressman Asa Hutchison, Homeland Defense Undersecretary for Border Control, going into detail about their new USA Visa program and how it will secure our borders at US points of entry?

I couldn't believe that talk. IS THIS REALLY BUSH ADMINISTRATION POLICY?!?!

Barf.

No wonder we are being invaded on the installment plan and the many law abiding guests and immigrants are being slapped in the face and insulted. It guess, listening to that talk, it will continue to happen regardless if the GOP or the Dems control the agencies.

Salient points of Asa's talk at C.S.I.S., Washington (summary):

--America should and will continue to welcome mass after mass, wave after wave, of immigrant.

--The (rest their souls, nevertheless) individuals found dead in a Texas truck smuggled into the US were "immigrants".

--Asa discussed only the issue of controlling to keep terrorists out. NARY a word of controlling illegal alien entry, nor any condemnation of it, nor strategy to plug those massive holes.

--Line after line after line about how immigrants contributed to America. But basically, as a result, putting LEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL immigrants, (as long as they are not terrorists) in the same cherished box to be praised.

--Detailed discussion about new biometrics/fingerprints, etc. to be used in scanning foreign entrys at ports and airports. Nary a discussion about the thousands and thousands who use routes outside of these established Ports of Entry and are primarily non-terrorists but illegal aliens nonetheless.

I took away from this speech that the policy talking points of the Administration are that legal and illegal immigration distinctions are or should disappear. I found this talk extremely disheartening.

One of the largest cocaine importers in the history of the country operated out of his jurisdiction while a US District Attorney in Arkansas and Asa never laid a finger on ole Barry Seal and the boys. He's a go along get along guy if ever there was one.

I might add that Asa said the individuals leaving Mexico found dead in the truck were 'seeking freedom'.

By that criteria, a) he has just insulted the Republic of Mexico as people are leaving it for 'freedom'... and b) they were not illegal aliens leaving based on economics, but rather political refugees.

At any rate, his speech was a patent endorsement and 'look the other way' position on the illegal alien inflow problem. It almost sounded like a Democrat, for what he patently LEFT OUT of the speech.

I think most of the questions at the C.S.I.S. Washington, D.C. forum today were pretty softball for him.

Until we get off the kick of labeling the Republicans as the good guys and start taking a realistic approach at the present state of affairs, it will get worse. We have Republicans in power positions that are just as radical as the Democrats in giving our sovereignty and country away.

Tancredo is the only hope I see for the future. Hopefully, the economy will get so severe that the public will insist on protecting America from excessive immigration and job loss. This is a drastic wish but it seems the only thing that will ignite enough anger to get some action.

Well, actually I was thinking more in terms of putting pressure on him here in Arkansas. Republicans are very easily replaced here (unfortunately, it is most often with democrats). I'm just wondering who his interests here are serving, because I am quite sure, based on what I know of Arkansas politics, that he is in somebody's pocket. I'm guessing Tyson.
