President Bush met today with Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik in the Oval Office, and met with 8 members of the U.S. military who had been wounded in combat as he read his radio address. He presented the Commander in Chief Trophy to the Air Force Academy football team, and this afternoon made remarks to the press on the White House lawn as he left for Camp David. Enjoy your Daily Dose of DUBYA!!

I don't know how true it is but I read that the original plan was for the President to go in one of the 2-seater jets but the SS nixed the idea. What I'd like to know is just exactly what the SS could do to protect him in such a situation anyway? Help fish him out of the drink in case the plane went down? If they are in the same plane, wouldn't they be likely to be injured also?

ohioW: A public thank you for subbing!
Rinny:
All: ... I received the Band of Brothers DVD set for my birthday, and the book for Mother's Day. If anyone hasn't yet seen / read this, I heartily recommend both. Even though I'd seen the movies two or three times before, I could hardly put down the book. And the DVDs are so well done, with the story being beyond compelling, that I'm sure I'll be watching it many more times.

Ohio, thanks for filling in for rintense. You gave us some good pictures to look at.
rintense, I hope you're feeling better soon.
I love the first picture of the President with the monument in the background.

this whole thing is MUCH harder than we even dreamed it would be......and that was pretty bad...... I donate to organizations that support paralyzed and disabled vets, etc., and they sent the loveliest things in return. Recently they sent a sticker that goes inside a window. I plan to get it on my car soon. It says, simply, underneath an American flag: Freedom Isn't Free.
Truly it is found only where blood has been shed by the frontline brave, and where the yearning families keep vigil.

Hey Bushie, do you know who the State Dinner is for? I can't wait to see what Laura is wearing either. I'm hoping she'll nix the bow as well.

I would like to see her in a strapless (and backless) gown, but I doubt it will happen at a state dinner.

YES! Next Friday is my last day of school! I can't wait!
Tomorrow my sister is doing "Walk for life" so I guess I'll go to that. Then, we're going to another Pro-America Rally.

I doubt that would ever happen. She dresses VERY conservatively, and don't think she'd ever go strapless. She might do something with an open back. THe scoopneck gowns she wears look good on her, but I do hate the bows. But you're pretty much gonna see the first lady in a type of dress you've seen before. She sticks with what works well for her.

I'm so excited for you. My brother gets out next Friday too.
I'm so glad that you are getting to go to so many Pro Toop/Pro America rallies. It's a good thing to get into at your age. I wish we had them in my hometown. We had a few in my college town, but not nearly enough as I think there should be. I've also traveled to Phoenix for some rallies.

Yeah, she does dress very conservatively. But, she actully has gone strapless before. I think it was before the innauguration. I didn't see a picture, but I read about it in People Magazine.

What I'd like to know is just exactly what the SS could do to protect him in such a situation anyway? That's why W went in the Viking, with more seats. Perhaps there were other jets accompanying Bush's that weren't observed ... a full complement of airborne protectors?

No kddign?! I totally would never think of her to go strapless. Was it during the campaigns or when Dubya was gov. of Texas? Even some of the gowns I've seen he in the past reflect a little of what she wears today.
