A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Butchart Gardens, Victoria, BC

The Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia, are rated as one of the most beautiful garden displays in the world....50 acres of beautiful flowers, trees, and the most lush landscape. You can stroll through a Sunken Garden, Japanese Garden, Italian Garden, the majestic Ross Fountain and the English Rose Garden. Each garden is linked by spacious lawns, streams and Lily ponds.

Since Spring is in full bloom, and Summer is almost here, we thought it might be fun to let those who enjoy their gardens - whether flower or vegetable - do a little bragging. We can't all look out our window and see a beautiful view like the two photos above, but then, unless we had a huge full-time garden staff, we wouldn't have time to visit the Finest. :)

I don't claim to have a green thumb nor spend a lot of time digging in the ground, but this is where I enjoy early morning coffee, listening to the birds sing, and watching the goldfish. It's peaceful and quiet and relaxing. Low maintenance - ground cover and concrete and brick - that's the lazy man's garden. :)

Your turn! Let's see some of FR's Finest Gardens.

Thanks, Mixer!

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar.
2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.
3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.
5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

*L* Misty is a beautiful girl - she's my neighbor and a model. I only have sons. Here she is again in a field of red, white and blue wildflowers at Cameron Park.

Now you've done it, Nan.

Valerie is showing you those pictures she took of the Blue Ridge Parkway again, and I wanna go there.....wanna be on top of the mountains in sunshine, watching another thunderstorm way below, rolling across with black clouds and lightning bolts and magnificent drama...

Wanna have a picnic at Moses Cone Park, cooling a watermelon in the shallow, cold mountain stream with golden pebbles so smooth, little ones safely wade barefooted in them - things no concrete jungle affords.

Wanna lie on a blanket and wath the cloud shapes - at night, watching the stars, with no city lights to compete...

Um...Aquamarine - maybe I can come visit you in your end of the mountains!

When are we getting together again? We need to work on that. Hubby is have a defibulator installed June 9th. It will have to be before that or a few weeks after. I'll be concerned about him for a bit afterward. I still think we should find an appropriate park and have a picnic.
