Get ready for the Bushies versus Mickey Mouse.
Some stalwart supporters of the President are organizing a boycott of Disney after it was revealed that a subsidary of the company is helping finance Michael Moore's 'Farenheit 9/11,' which is expected to come out in time for the 2004 election and reportedly will show links between the Bush dynasty and Osama Bin Laden.
On Friday, Variety reported Disney's Mirimax would provide funding for the flick after Mel Gibsons Icon Productions dropped the project.
'Financing Michael Moore's 2004 attack film is UNACCEPTABLE, notes a poster (recovering_democrat) on the Conservative web site Free Republic, which gives contact numbers for people to complain to both Mirimax and Disney.
The site also urges boycotts of all Disney products, including Disney World and even ABC.
A source close to Mirimax says the company is undaunted, 'We have weathered storms like this before.'
When asked about the planned boycott by Free Republic.com, the insider said, 'Whoever they are, they are entitled to their opinion.'

Mickey Mouse is turning out to be a rat!

But shouldn't the boycott come AFTER. Let them waste all that money and then we can show them for the frauds that they are. Again, if we have nothing to worry about the content, then why worry?

So now we have insiders.

Once again, folks, we have to hit them in the wallet. We need lists of companies that buy time on ABC, and any other Disney-related enterprise, as well as contact info for those companies. Complaining only to Disney and Miramax won't hurt them. Complaining to, and boycotting those companies who make up their money tree WILL. I cannot sit and watch ABC, as I have 3 busy kids....but I'll try to get some names.
ANYONE WANT TO HELP WITH THIS?

More Good News as there were rumors Mel Gibson's IKON Productions was going to be involved!! Now we need to get to Disney!
From www.newsmax.com :
1. Moore-less Mel Gibson
A conservative chorus rang out across the land. "Say it ain't so, Mel!" was the right thinker's reaction when the story broke that Gibson's Icon Productions was going to be involved with Michael Moore's flimflam foray "Fahrenheit 911."
Moore probably hopes to fill movie screens with a bunch of Bush-bashing baloney just in time for the presidential campaign of 2004.
But now, according to Variety, word has it that Gibson's pulled the plug on Icon's financial involvement with the pseudo-documentary maker's latest project.
So, where does a lefty go to get money? The same places liberal Democrat candidates go - to Harvey Weinstein's and Miramax's front doors.
Miramax will supposedly give Moore "bridge" financing and use a French firm, The Wild Bunch, for distribution.
Rumors are flying about why Mel booted Moore out the door. Could be that he got some helpful tips from LCR readers via e-mails and letters.
The Left Coast Report thinks that Mel's working with Moore would've been the biggest mismatch since "60 Minutes" paired up Clinton and Dole.

When asked about the planned boycott by Free Republic, the insider said, Whoever they are, theyre entitled to their opinion.I know this has been said a thousand times....but boy oh boy, they haven't a clue. But I think they're about ready to find out!

BAD NEWS- Universal Studios is French ownedIn all honesty, I never DID like that place...

Part of the "no lines" is due to terrorism. People are afraid to gather in large groups.
This boycott will not help Disney's bottom line.
The only problem I have with boycotting the parts is that a lot of teens (as well as others) have jobs there. Since I'm without a job, I can understand the value of having a job.
But ... Miramax is a different story - they are fair game and should be hit hard.

if that's true about his dad, then that probably explains it...
my guess is that his studio is managed by liberal hollywood dopers, who are aware that Gibson is a conservative... but they are so far left that they think Michael Moore is a "moderate" and they didn't think Mel Gibson would find Moore to be extreme at all.
Heck, in Hollywood, "banning guns" is moderate and "banning slingshots" is liberal. Since MM didn't explicitly call for a gun ban, they probably even thought that Bowling for Columbine was conservative!

Good ping. Michael Moor-or-Less is an example of why the GOP should never let go of any DNC scandal. If we don't bury them, they will keep looking for ways to bury us first until they finally find a way.

Your comments about Bowling for Columbine really put this latest 'documentary' in perspective. Do you have any handy links regarding that? I'll go check out Google. FReegards....

Bumping. And thanks.

So when is Mel Gibson's "Jesus" movie coming out? I don't know about other Christians but I really enjoyed his portrayal of King David years ago. Very honest just like the Bible.
