Considering the expense to the American taxpayer and use of American men and women as 'extras' for this media stunt, President George W. Bush should pledge that his USS Lincoln landing not appear in any 2004 Presidential Campaign Commercials and Videos.

FREEPERS ON THEIR OWN PUT THIS BILL BOARD UP ON I5 OUTSIDE OF MEDFORD, OREGON. I'M SURE THAT EACH STATE OF FREEPERS CAN RAISE MONEY FOR A GREAT GW BILLBOARD TO APPEAR LABOR DAY 2004. WE CAN HAVE THE GREAT PICTURES ON THOSE BILLBOARDS WITH DIFFERENT ONES IN DIFFERENT STATES. ABCNNBCBS WILL GO WHACKO AND SHOW THESE BILL BOARDS 24/7. WE WILL JUST REPLY, "THIS IS SOFT MONEY IN ACTION! STUFF IT!"

Fill me in. I missed ABC news this morning (on purpose).
Did the WH make that pledge?

It sounds great, but Jim Rob has asked that Free Republic not be used to raise funds for anything. I think it has to do with his tax status, but I am not sure. It would have to be done through a private web-site. I think that you would be free to post a link, though.

Yes, billboard space should be reserved NOW, lest the Rats commandeer all the good spots!
Also I am asking this question: could the footage be used in a Navy Recruiting film? With a nice little speech by the President on how it is an honor to serve as Commander in Chief for the proud men and women of the Navy? To be shown in every movie theater all this summer and next?
To: Grampa Dave
I'm in for some cash with you, Grampa Dave. Are there billboard rental spaces across from DNC headquarters?

This was the MOAPO, (Mother Of All Photo Ops) the Ratz know it, AND THEY CAN"T DO A DANG THING ABOUT IT!.
When they tried it with Dukakis and x42, they couldn't pull it off.
Stop it Terry! You're making me bust-a-gut!

And to show their appreciation the rats will re-run the Jasper, TX murder commercial and call the Presdient a racist. McCauliffe is the lowest of the low.

What would be really funny is if Pres. Bush paid for the expenses of the trip out of his own pocket and then charged the media for royalties on the rights to publish the images.

I'm sure that the Admiral in charge of recruiting for the Navy, and the Marine General are looking into how to use President Bush's landing for recruitment.

If this was such a bad thing then the Democrats should be happy for President Bush to use the footage so that there would be a huge voter backlash like the one over the Paul Wellstone death party. I think President Bush will use the footage and "take his chances."

Good observation, Grampa. I'm certain that brief visit by the president did more for military recruiting than about $50 million from the advertising and public affairs budget; maybe much more.
