The 30 just made for easy math for those not familiar with carrier flight ops.
With the Prez coming onboard. Surprised they would increase the risk. if true

Please tell your son I said
"Thank You for your service to our country."

Great post. I just heard yesterday that the ship was held up and didn't question it. Just chalked it up SOP when a dignitary arrives. Like when XXX42 got a haircut at LAX on the runway.

Are you positive the ship was "crawling" along at 3 knots? I just asked him about this and he said that he really was not sure of the speed, but just guessing. He added that it may have going 5 or six knots.
Most press reports hve it hat the ship was "dead" in the water, but this was in fact, not the case.

I hope that you guys will forgive the vanity, but I thought some might want to have a more direct report. Thanks!

That is a big turn around in the behavior of the Seattle area to our vets coming home from Nam
It was a shameful time for the people of this country and how 'Nam vets have been treated or I should say mistreated;(

I'm told the menu was steak and lobster. Why hasn't PETA chimed in on this yet?
Yes, surprising considering the pain lobsters feel being boiled alive.(Peta Hmph!)

did not lose a single plane either to attack or mechanical problems.OUT STANDING! Normal flight operations during a cruise usually incurr a plane loss or two. The men and women of Lincoln more than deserve the citation.

DFU, as if you needed more confirmation for your point, here's another. Michael SF's son also says the Lincoln arrived as scheduled.
Michael...thank you and your son...for sacrifices no one should need to make...for standing up for the freedoms and liberty we all enjoy.

Technically speaking that's second hand. :p But, I did get it first hand. Thus I was relating a "first hand" report. Which is what I meant to say, but worded incorrectly.

Anyway, I hope that you guys will forgive the vanity, but I thought some might want to have a more direct report. Thanks! This superb piece you wrote is NO vanity, sir. It is a fitting and proper statement of TRIBUTE to our magnificent men and women in the service of our country.
Please pass along my sincerest thanks for your son's service and sacrifice for the benefit of all Americans. I am proud of him as I'm sure you are as well.
