White House to Sen. Byrd- 'Do It Again, Please' (USS Lincoln Complaining) [Excerpt from The Note]
ABC News ^ | May 8, 2003 | Marc Armbinder

Posted on 05/08/2003 8:37:38 AM PDT by ewing

One Democrat moaned yesterday as he watched the cable news programs replay hours of footage of President Bush on the carrier with audio about Democratic complaints.

'Im watching him get high fived and buzz the tower again,' the Democrat said. 'The White House should have thought of this controversy themselves!'

Democratic questions about Bush's jet landing made the front page of USA Today complete with the 'Fly Boy' photo that will have Mike Deaver smiling.

Along these lines, a Senior Administration Official told the ABC Political Unit 'The more time the President talks about defense and security issues, the more he hurts Democrats and reinforces the public's positive perceptions of the Presdient.'

'Do it again, do it again is our message to Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia.'

The Democrats are doing things to make their base happy, but alienating the center of the electorate.

Most of us remember the famous RAT commercial where the word RAT appeared vaguely in the commercial.

The Rats were outraged and their butt buddies who controlled the Rat Mantras posing as nightly news ran that ad for free for night after night.

That ad was seen by millions over and over for free.

Thank you Senator Bryd.

Some times I think that Byrd and Mad Max, the Klingon Congressit from the LA area are really conservative moles working for GW and the republican party.

Byrd was complaining about having this staged as a photo op, blah blah blah. Limbaugh just read about a whole slew of buildings and projects in West Virginia named "Robert C. Byrd" this or that. I E-Mailed him a comment to the effect that with half of West Virginia named after himself, Byrd has a narcissistic streak as wide as Saddam Hussein's.

Someday perhaps, the people of West Virginia will also be liberated and they will topple the monuments to Saddam Byrd.

One of my all-time favorite photos. I especially love it that both the NY Post and NY Daily News used this pic with the headline, "Top Gun," in the city where the towers came down. Lot's of folks around the world have learned that Dubya's version of payback stings a little bit more than a, ahem, bee-itch.

When X42 and his entourage visited China a few years back, They
required several plane loads with equipment, reporters and
vehicles for support. The cost comparison for the Two separate
ventures is astonomical. I did not hear anything said about the many sojourns of that X42 when KKK Byrd spoke, not to mention the diversionary bombings (costs) during the investigations of x42 in 1998. The demon senators are digging a deep hole
for themselves.... k2afe

Contrast this use of aircraft to Bubber's....he held up LAX for two hours while the darling cristophe gave him a $200.00 trim at taxpayer's expense....some of the comparisions are almost too funny...

That was one of the most brilliant commercials I've seen. I recall the morning shows ( Today, Good Morning Amerika, etc.) had a hissy fit so it must have worked.

He can "investigate" to his heart's content but the chairman of the committee he'll have to do it through is a Republican and can expand the probe to include all of the Clinton (both of them) junkets.

either on 9/11 or shortly after I thought W would likely win reelection. The carrier moment and speech was another time like that for me.

My wife saw me laughing at one of the free runs on some Rat news she wanted to watch.

When it was over, she want to know why I was laughing and not screaming at the tv and throwing something at it.

I said, that the dummies on her phoney tv news station were running our great ad for free, doing it in slow motion and back to back.

She had a stunned look, smiled and said, "Now, I know!"
