IRAQ'S 'DR GERM' FOUND

Coalition forces have captured one of Iraq's top biological weapons scientists known as "Dr Germ".

Huda Salih Mahdi Ammash is believed to be responsible for rebuilidng Iraq's biological weapons capability since the Gulf War in 1991 and was also a regional Ba'ath party commander according to a US defence official.

Ammash, number 53 on the US list of most wanted members of Saddam Hussein's fallen regime, was captured in Baghdad on Sunday the official said.

Moderator: Please change title of the thread, as the captured woman is "MRS. ANTHRAX", not "Dr. Germ" as the US media is mistakenly saying.

It creates some confusion.

U.S. forces have taken into custody another of the most-wanted Iraqi fugitives, Huda Salih Mahdi Ammash, knowledgeable about weapons programs under toppled President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s government, a defense official said on May 5, 2003.
