DNC Chairman McAuliffe Statement on President Bush's Taxpayer-Funded Photo Opportunity
Washington, D.C. -- Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Terry McAuliffe issued the following statement:
"The 341,000 Americans who became unemployed in April had the honor of watching the president land on an aircraft carrier yesterday afternoon, no doubt wondering how the costs of this extravagant photo-op would affect their pocketbooks. Instead of watching his dramatic sea landing, I am sure they would rather have been at work.
"The president seems to want to focus all of his attention on military success rather than his complete lack of success on the economic front. He is presiding over an economy that is losing jobs rather than creating them."

Great find and thanks for posting it:
In March 2000, the President, with Chelsea and his mother-in-law, took a trip to Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Oman, and Switzerland. The SRPC noted that both ABC News' World News Tonight and the Air Force Times estimated the cost of the trip at $50 million, a record for the cost of an overseas trip by a president. Used on the trip were 14 C-17 Globemaster IIIs, 12 C-5 Galaxys, 3 C-141 Starlifters, and 2 C-130 Hercules. A large number of other Air Force planes were to deploy.

Yep, I forgot all that then got my memory refreshed by post 46. You are accurate and I wonder if McSpitUp thinks the public has bad memories?

does anyone have the pic where clinton has his head bowed..like he might have been praying. I think I saw it on this site not too long ago. I want to use a picture with his head bowing for a sign I want to do for the dixie chicks concert.

Great Job with all of the data re the costs of the Sinkmaster and Thigh Queen's trips as well as the great pictures.
McAwful knows that his dumbed downed/drugged out cult voters have no memories. So he thinks that he can get by with this to turn the moderate voters around.
Thanks to people like you, he will not get by with it.
This thread is another prime example of the value that Free Republic has. A BS claim of McAwful gets shredded with documentation and humor in a short time.
This is another example of why all of us need to thank Jim Robinson for his creation of Free Republic. One way to say thanks is to donate 17 cents per day or $5/month to Free Republic.

There was a trip to Asia - I think it was - that used so many resources to transport Toon cronies, lackeys etc. that military readiness was compromised.
Maybe a FReeper with a better memory than mine can provide more info on that junket or a link? Seems like it was his last year or two of office - had to get those freebies in while there was still time.

Of course Mr Jackson the hypocrite was on board a free ride.

I would expect the end piece of this one to actually be one of the least costly trips a President can make.
My thoughts exactly.
As compared to any other trip.
Extra cost for security? Not likely since it was aboard a secure ship.
Extra cost for flight to the ship? $1000 if not $10,000s cheaper than Airforce one.
Extra cost for participants? Everyone on the ship was already employed by the US Government.
If someone had the time and knowledge to, "put a pencil to it", I would bet this has been one of the least expensive speeches ever.

The official DNC web page is nothing but Bush bashing and politics of personal destruction, they are a minority left wing conspiracy full of nothing ideas. Their DNC web page has Bushes' name on it probably more than the WH page prints his name.
The DNC web page had Bush pushing old people in wheel chairs down a hill deplicted on a mock social security card, then they accused Bush of literally poisoning the water supply, then they accused Bush of cutting off poor peoples heat in the winter.
THE LOSERS NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME!!! They can met in back rooms from now to election day, they are toast they won't GET that America figured out they are socialist liars that represent good as bad, and bad as good. Even if they reinvented their party more centrist and less leftist no one will believe them-they are washed up and done and don't know it, yet.
