A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

To Our FReeper FRiends: We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our spotlight on various FReepers. We thought we'd kick back on the weekends and simply review those who've been featured during the week. If you missed seeing them and want to say hello to them now, feel free to click on the link to that particular thread. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today and tomorrow, please feel free to do that also. One of us will always be around to see the welcome mat is still out, and maybe even put fresh flowers on the table. :)

Good morning FR's Finest! What lovely photos today and sentiments, too. I have been reading Psalms 32 through 37 this morning. How comforting and assuring they are! Today is "home worship" day with FR, because my measles shot, which I got two Fridays ago -resulted in mild case of - yes, the measles! LOL Always something unexpected in life, isn't there? That explains the cold I had last week. Except for feeling tired I'm ok and will go back to work tomorrow. So Praise the Lord! :) I was so happy celebrate the homecoming of our troops and President Bush flying onto the USS Lincoln to thank them all. It's been a truly inspiring week!

"Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him.
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday."

May you all enjoy a joyous and blessed Sunday!

Going through your second (or third?) childhood, Mighty Mouse, with the measles shot, and measles?!

Jesting aside, thank you for those so reassuring verses.
Quite a Sunday Feast - -

WHERE DID SENSE GO?

From dusk till dawn
I toss and turn.
When day is come
I’m ready for
A nap mid-morn. . .
I’m all forlorn.

I wonder why
I’m mixed up so.
My bod’s confused.
It’s out of synch.
O me, o woe. . .
Where did sense go?

Morning LadyX! I don't seem to form an immunity to measles and had a serious case in Grad school... which precipitated taking many new roads in my life... God works in mysterious ways! The only reason I had the shot was because I was teaching and thought I might catch it from the kids. LOL I "gave" it to myself! ;) This time for sure I'll become resistant!

Nice poem about senses Grant!

Thanks for the Psalms today Libertina. They are always so reassuring.

As you could tell by my musical post I had done a little research on the song 'Break Forth O Beauteous Heavenly Light' and was going to reply (before I hit the wrong button and sent my address bar and everything else into cyberspace!) that the words from that song were derived from Isaiah 58 - 8 thru 14

LOL I hate when that happens! I like Isaiah, Micheal savage reads parts a lot on his show. So many of the songs, names, literature can be traced back to the Bible. People who tyr to take away expresions of our Christian religion are taking away the history of this country.

I agree, they would have to X out the history of the world.

I heard that George W quoted Isaiah at the end of his speech on the ship the other day. Did you happen to hear which Chapter it was from?

"Goin' after more than al-claydas with your new shootin' irons, I'd say,"

Yeah, gunner found some 45.70 rounds for us to shoot in my new Sharp's buffalo gun.
He says they should take care of those militant buffalo we might encounter.

This is going to be a real old fashioned Texas shoot-out with some awesome weapons to fire and some thick ribeyes to munch on afterward.
Rika is going to furnish some shrimp goodies to tide us over.

Shootin' starts at noon, y'all!
C'mon down!!

Oh thanks. I looked at Chapter 7 and don't think it could have been that one but I did find a verse that was new to me that I liked....

Isa 7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
