WASHINGTON The Iraqi lawyer who led U.S. forces to former POW Jessica Lynch has accepted a job offer from Washington lobbying firm The Livingston Group days after the United States granted him asylum.
The company, founded by former U.S. Rep. Bob Livingston, said details on 33-year-old Mohammed Odeh al-Rehaief's new responsibilities were still in the works. A good deal of The Livingston Group's business is international, the company said, and some clients are from Arabic-speaking countries. The company also said al-Rehaief is eager to improve his English, and will take intense language lessons.

Isn't publishing his name endangering his life? How does the Livingstone Group know that some 'client' from an 'Arabis speaking country' won't be carrying out a hit on al-Rehaief for being decent and heroic....everything the Arab 'street' hates most??Pardon me, I lived in Egypt for six years, and I can tell you that most Arabs would respect this man's courage, whatever their opinions of the war. And most of them would understand the revulsion he felt when he saw the military guy in the hospital slap a petite 19-year-old woman lying in a hospital bed, with a number of broken bones and a head wound. Whatever their feelings about the war (and that appears to be changing, for some), most Arabs would appreciate what Mohammed did. The Egyptians I knew would say that he was a real man, and they would envy his courage and his good fortune.

This is awesome. God bless this brave man. Let's just hope the job he now has in the US doesn't get shipped off to Mexico....(/dumb humor)

What ever happened to this story? Was it bogus?"Bogus?? Sounds like somebody got their tinfoil hat screwed on too tight.

You have my pardon. If you weren't being so oversensitive, you'd know that the Arab 'street' is the torrorist aggrandizement of the leftist media.

But before al-Rehaief can start his new job he will undergo surgery next week, Fox News has learned. Al-Rehaief was injured during several risky treks up and down a road that came to be known as "ambush alley," in an effort to transport information on the Nasiriyah hospital were Pfc. Lynch was held to U.S. Marines stationed outside the city. A surgeon has volunteered to perform the operation at no cost, Fox News has also learned.
That's the first I had heard of that. May God grant him quick healing from his injuries and bless him and his family.

Boy, talk about a leap out of abject poverty into a wonderful world of rewards. I doubt that he and his wife were living in "abject poverty". As a lawyer and a nurse, they were at least in the middle class and most likely in the upper class - such as it was in Iraq.
That said, he and his wife risked their lives and by doing so gave a strong indication as to their principles. I'm glad to see their actions rewarded and expect them to become good Americans.

There was a counter=story to this circulating on radio especially 3 or 4 days ago that it was not an Iraqi lawyer but a member of Israeli Mossad who was the one who led American soldiers to Jessica Lynch. What ever happened to this story? Was it bogus? Based on the fact that we have seen photographs of "Mohammad" during the rescue, I suspect that the Mossad story is bogus. Before it is over, we will see NOW, the DNC, the ACLU, PFAW and PETA, et al, taking credit. Or trying to.

This is good. We can be harsh on our enemies, now let the world see that we reward our friends.

I thought I read that he and his wife weren't doing that well because they didn't belong to the Baath party. Just because his wife was working as nurse didn't mean she was paid like one. I understand that people who didn't belong were lucky to get jobs and the pay rates were well below par.
To: Tunehead54; LibKill
How about Tim Robbins and his non-wife/actor to replace a lawyer and his nurse/genuine wife, and instead of sending them to Iraq, we send them to Syria, or Saudi Arabia, or Iran, or maybe they could even throw in their lot with the Palestinians! Give them an opportunity to get to know some of the people they stand up for on a different level.
