ABC Admits Reporters Target Republicans
NewsMax.com ^ | 4/23/03 | Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff

If you're wondering why the media establishment screams long and hard when Republicans say something politically incorrect but virtually ignores the disgraceful rantings of Sen. Patty "Osama Mama" Murray, Rep. Charlie Rangel, Rep. Marcy Kaptur, Rep. Jim Moran, Sen. Robert "KKK" Byrd and so on, ABC has a confession to make.

Yes, this is the same ABC that pays millions of dollars to its anti-American foreign anchorman, Peter Jennings, so he can drive millions of viewers away to cable news. (For a look at Jennings' astonishingly biased coverage of Operation Iraqi Freedom, check out Media Research Center.)

Here's a fascinating item today on the overhyped Santorum story from "The Note," a column by ABC News' political unit: Mark Halperin, Marc Ambinder, David Chalian and Brooke Brower.

"Could anyone deny that most Washington reporters tend to move more aggressively to bring down Republicans in trouble than Democrats in trouble?

"And could anyone deny that Democratic operatives work harder to build the kind of relationships with journalists that pay off at times like these?

"And could anyone deny the causal connection between the phenomena described in the previous two paragraphs?

"In any event, it's pretty clear that a Democratic party, which still is trying to figure out what it does well with its current array of personnel, is exercising the same muscles that allowed it to score point after point in driving Trent Lott from the leadership," the four reporters write.

If even ABC can't deny that, we certainly can't.

Newsmax is record of tv show transcripts, not a news organization. True. But, it at least serves a good function there, though they should stop calling themselves journalists.

And the Austin American-Statesman gave the ABC Network an "A" for best War Coverage! Jeez!

Actually, there IS a surprise here. Four ABC reporters have acknowledged the truth about their network's political bias and remained employed there. Or at least remained employed for the moment -- I wouldn't want to bet in favor of their long-term prospects.

Congressman Billybob

Latest column, now up on FR, "Who's Next?"

Latest book(let), "to Restore Trust in America."

This is from a daily article called The Note.

They are very consciously balanced and watch out for bias.

Very different from the rest of ABC.

Admitting what is known is not a surprize to me. If NBC's Katie Koolaid said, "Good God I hate everything that made America Great", I would not be surprized.

Journalism also has gone from reporting the news, to creating the news.
And the press wonders why I hate them.

About NewsMax

"Yep, but I love John L. Perry columns and where else can I get them?"

So do I. He is one of the best conservative journalists in my opinion.

Of the alphabet networks Jennings seems the most blatantly slanted.

The only surprise would be if she actually said it rather than just acting like she thinks that way.

It's all coming apart for the rat media. Some of them are even starting to realize that it is over. The 3 legged stool of Talk Radio The Net and FOXtv is steadily taking away the rat media's ability to dictate what is and what is not true or what is or what is not news. They have served the rats as thier lie machine since they refused to tell the public that FDR was in a wheelchair and only got out to do the horizontal mombo with lucy mercer. Now, all those years of lies is catching up to them. When they completely fold, so will the rat party.

I hate how NEWSMAX grabs OTHER PEOPLES' stories, and won't link to them. They're a bunch of parasites.

I visit ABCNEWS.COM almost everyday, but not for the news. I always check ABCNEWS to see what the new leftist propaganda is out there. In sort of the same way I check FOXNEWS.COM as well, however it's clear the FOX is clearly more open and honest about their conservative leanings. Then again Conservatives in general are more honest about where they are coming from in terms of ideology. The three major networks (all very left leaning) have tried to foster this myth that they are the pinnacle of objective broadcast journalism. The truth is no media outlet is strictly unbiased. FOXNEWS certainly comes the closest, but the major networks realize a majority of Americans are Democrats and that is where their bottom line is. Granted Republicans are better at mobilizing their people, but integrity and truth are far from the minds of news Execs at ABC, CBS, and NBC. Ruthless smear campaigns to draw Democratic viewers are the foremost in their minds.

I am half way through Bernard Goldberg's "Bias". I know its been out awhile, but just now I am getting around to reading it. The thing that amazes me is the fact that the leftist media (redundant statement) cannot own up to the examples shown in the book.

You would think that some journalist in one of the alphabet news organisations would be able to see it and admit it. Now that Fox is eating into the profits, there may be some change ahead. After all, liberals have no problem spending other peoples money, but when its coming from their pocket they don't need much encouragement to take steps to save it.
