The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us on Saturday, April 26 for our 5th annual freep against liberal bias in the media at the White House Correspondents Association dinner.
This is our most fun event of the year. We, the "little people," get to voice our complaints directly to the reporters, editors and executives who distort the news to further their liberal agenda at the expense of the good of the country, in addition to freeping Clintonistas and other 'Rats there.
We also get to meet our friends and favorites in the media and politics, making this event extra special for us.
This year, we will be presenting the Free Republic Garafalo Awards. The Garafalo--ready-to-eat stuffed crows on a platter--will be awarded to prominent individuals in the media and elsewhere whose histrionic predictions of doom and gloom before and/or during Operation Iraqi Freedom stand head and shoulders above all others for their shrillness, certainty, and apocolyptic ravings.
We will be posting separate threads for nominations and voting. Please use those threads so that we can keep an accurate score.
When: Saturday, April 26 from 4 p.m. to at least 8 p.m.
Where: The Washington Hilton, the southeast corner of Connecticut Avenue and T Street, NW.
Bring: Signs and American flags.
We have secured a permit for this demonstration.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No profanity, no violence, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Have fun everyone.
Wish I was on the right coast instead of left so I could participate. Sounds like a blast.

Come over when you can -- we'll be on the corner of Connecticut and T for the freep and then we will adjourn to the bar in the Washington Hilton Hotel to watch the Dinner speeches, etc. on the TVs. We relax, talk over who we interacted with and what was said and then we move closer to the doorway to watch the media and guests as they leave the event and say a few words to friends and foes. We also take lots of pictures throughout the evening. It's great fun. We'll send you our cell phone numbers so you can't possibly miss meeting up with us.

You can make it!
Afterwards, it is our tradition to retire to the Hilton's bar and watch the dinner on C-SPAN. We don't heckle people as they walk around in the hotel, but we do talk to our friends there. We're there until 10 or 11 p.m. so you'll have plenty of time.

A little brainstorming by chapter members, and a little shopping around, and we found what I think will be
just right for these awards.
I will be working on them this weekend, and if OK'd by our fearless leaders (they may want to unveil them on the 26th), I may be able to post a photo by Sunday evening.
I gotta get back to work...
