FOX NEWS CHANNELS FOX & FRIENDS DEFEATS BROADCAST NETWORK FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK Thu Apr 17 2003 16:54:06 ET

Apparently the avergae viewer despaired with what they saw presented on Network TV, searched for an alternative and found FOX, and never saw a need to change back.
To be perfectly honest, FOX is on almost all the time in our home while the rest of the "Alphabet Soup" is mostly blocked.

I agree. I just leave the TV on Fox all day. I don't think I've turned it off of Fox since the war began.

Another sign that Fox and Friends is really kicking butt is that it is live across the country, so it is over by 6 a.m. in the West. The broadcast networks' morning shows are delayed and shown in a more optimum time slot of 7-9 a.m.

And here's the kicker. Fox and Friends is live across all time zones -- 4 a.m. on the left coast. How many folks are up that early there? And for the past several weeks, Centcom briefings have taken up the first hour in all time zones and on CNN and MSNBC also. Viewers could have switched to the lamestream networks' morning shows which haven't shown the briefings recently. The daily briefings ended this morning (or maybe tomorrow -- Fox wasn't sure as of this a.m.). The proof will come next week when Fox doesn't have that competition.
Finally, there is a need for an early morning national news show that is live across the other time zones, especially in the heartland (the Red Zone in the last election). For example, ABCCBSNBC shows air at 7 a.m. in each time zone. Their news is delayed 1 hour in the central zone and two hours in the mountain zone. Being in the mountain zone and until I got cable 6 weeks ago, I was forced to listen to my local stations give the same news every half hour over and over again until I left for work. Since my work day begins at 7 a.m., I never was able watch Katie et.al except on a day off. I much more enjoy getting up at 5 a.m. to watch Fox and Friends to start my day.
Congrats to the network for their success. (BTW Paula Zahn is moving to evenings -- pretty soon CNN will be as irrelevant at the alphabet networks.)

Fox has the smartest, best, most intelligent, and best looking anchors. I suppose the exception proves the rule. <|:)~

It's interesting. After Fox started to gain popularity, I noticed that CNN booted a bunch of its "host-ettes," replacing them with younger, arguably prettier, women.
Yet there is something odd about the CNN women---is it just me?---they all seem to be almost robotic. They are pretty, yet not "attractive."
The Fox women all are smart, and they also all have distinct personalities, which makes them even more beautiful.
Remember the "Stepford Wives?" Sometimes I think CNN is "The Stepford Anchorettes."
