Apparently the avergae viewer despaired with what they saw presented on Network TV, searched for an alternative and found FOX, and never saw a need to change back.
To be perfectly honest, FOX is on almost all the time in our home while the rest of the "Alphabet Soup" is mostly blocked.

Another sign that Fox and Friends is really kicking butt is that it is live across the country, so it is over by 6 a.m. in the West. The broadcast networks' morning shows are delayed and shown in a more optimum time slot of 7-9 a.m.

And here's the kicker. Fox and Friends is live across all time zones -- 4 a.m. on the left coast. How many folks are up that early there? And for the past several weeks, Centcom briefings have taken up the first hour in all time zones and on CNN and MSNBC also. Viewers could have switched to the lamestream networks' morning shows which haven't shown the briefings recently. The daily briefings ended this morning (or maybe tomorrow -- Fox wasn't sure as of this a.m.). The proof will come next week when Fox doesn't have that competition.
Finally, there is a need for an early morning national news show that is live across the other time zones, especially in the heartland (the Red Zone in the last election). For example, ABCCBSNBC shows air at 7 a.m. in each time zone. Their news is delayed 1 hour in the central zone and two hours in the mountain zone. Being in the mountain zone and until I got cable 6 weeks ago, I was forced to listen to my local stations give the same news every half hour over and over again until I left for work. Since my work day begins at 7 a.m., I never was able watch Katie et.al except on a day off. I much more enjoy getting up at 5 a.m. to watch Fox and Friends to start my day.
Congrats to the network for their success. (BTW Paula Zahn is moving to evenings -- pretty soon CNN will be as irrelevant at the alphabet networks.)

It's worth knowing that the audio feed from Fox News Channel is one of the stations included in the channel lineup on XM Satellite Radio. XM is great!

The network stuff must be truly dreck, to be beaten by the braindead morning crapfest on Fox.

Years ago I used to do color on high school basketball games. During the regular season most of our broadcast games pitted two teams both of which were in our broadcast coverage area.
For those games our coverage was very neutral. Our coverage took great pains to be absolutely neutral. But at the end of the season, there were the state tournaments. When one of the teams in our coverage area played a team not in our coverage area, we were very biased for the local team.
This never caused us a problem.
When it is American Democrats fighting American Republicans it is important for news channels to remain neutral. However nearly every channel except Fox skews for the left. But when it is the USA against Iraq, nearly every channel except Fox goes neutral.
When all their was was ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC all skewing left it was hard for us to know the truth. But with Fox Talk Radio and the Internet, the so called major media can no longer convince people they are neutral. Bagdad Bob would have been believeable if we did not have conficting reports. But once we had live vidceo showing the truth Bagdad Bob became a joke.
With the internet and Fox the major media is becomming a joke. With each new national situation, the major media will begin to resemble Baghdad Bob.
The major media keeps telling themselved it is the babes and presentation that is garnering the audience. By the time they figure out their real problem. Fox will be THE MEDIA.
All the major media would have to do is focus group the public to find why Fox is winning the contest for audience. The problem for the major media is not that they lie to the public. Their worst problem is they lie to themselves.

It's infuriating when you have to stay at hotels and FOX News is not even an option. In fact, strangely enough, most hospitals do not offer FOX News. Sheeeesh. Why?! At the VA Hospital in Fresno, they have CNN blaring in eating areas and waiting areas. I doubt if FOX News is an option. WHY?????????!!!!!!!!!

This is fantastic! The people are speaking loudly....and what they're saying is that they do not want to hear the lies liberal version of the news anymore. While the networks may not become more balanced out of principle (which I doubt they could even define), for ratings they may yet cater to the will of the people. And if they don't, then it will be their undoing. Sweet justice.

Fox is still not shown in most hotels. Complain when you're traveling! I'm sick of being stuck with CNN when I travel. Every hotel/motel in the USA has CNN, but very few have Fox. Demand the change!!! I'd rather have Fox than HBO!
