Celebrating America and Honoring our Heroes Deerfield Beach Florida, April 19
South Florida Members of the American Race

Posted on 04/17/2003 8:47:45 AM PDT by Fearless Flyers

Americans grateful for their freedoms with a desire to celebrate their country and honor the patriots that have sacrificed blood to unselfishly defend those freedoms, are welcome to gather on the beach in Deerfield in front of the main beach parking lot, just south of Hillsboro Blvd., festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Come participate and meet others that are proud to be part of the American Race, relax by the soothing waves and gain some relieve from the tensions of the past 30 days. Cast a prayer upon the ocean’s currents for the protection of our men and women in the Military serving our Constitution in harms way so far from home.

Activities will include flying kites that honor American Heroes and values such as Old Glory, liberty and freedom. Pocket Constitutions will be available compliments of the United States Flag Hot Air Balloon crew and the National Constitution Center. (Hot Air Balloon will not be in attendance unfortunately).

People attending should be aware flying kites on Deerfield Beach could be considered an act of civil disobedience. There is an unwritten rule that has not been enforced for quite some time against kite flying, this is why we wait until the 5:00 after the life guards go off duty to put them in the air. But still there could be a risk of having your kite confiscated and receiving a citation for disturbing the peace. That threat has not been a problem for three years however.

No permits will be obtained for this celebration on a public beach. Making the Constitution available, could possibly be against a law, restricting distribution of hand bills.

Those who plan to celebrate are asked to respect other individuals, pick up after themselves and try to leave the beach environment culturally and physically better than when the celebration began.

(Sponsored by South Florida members of the American Race an all inclusive people regardless of race creed religion or ancestry)

"... there could be a risk of having your kite confiscated and receiving a citation for disturbing the peace. "

Do you have access to the ordinance restricting kite flying on Deerfield Beach?

I have two Patriotic silks that need to be displayed on this occasion.

I know some of you are wondering why you are being bumped to a thread that has nothing to do with your geographic area, please let me explain and understand this not going to become a habit.

Some people have made it known that they don’t believe rallies for our troops are appropriate during this Christian holy weekend I respect their believe and the faith we share. Others have stated that the rallies should not continue because the public is loosing interest. I do not agree with this statement and believe it is precisely that the public is loosing interest that we need to keep arranging events that support our Military Servicemen.

Only three days after the liberation of Baghdad I attended a weekly rally and witnessed the decline of interest by 50%. If anyone believes this is acceptable they are wrong. The veterans I spoke with noticed this decline and it was not possible for me to accept their disappointment and sorrow.

This is why we decided an event as you see promoted on this thread might be another approach to keeping our brave Servicemen in the spotlight, while they are still in harms way. The issues you see in the announcement are the primary strengths that secure our Nation without standing armies mingling in our civilian populations.

Reintroducing the United States Constitution to the general population would not be necessary if we hadn’t failed to defend our education of young people about American History from the attacks to discredit this subject by the socialist who have infiltrated the National Educators Association.

Americans become easily complacent and we have to constantly change our tactics with positive events in recognition of this. We should relentlessly promote the United States Constitution as it is the best and some may say the only weapon the civilian population has to defend its self from socialism, government largess and encroachment into our private lives.

Please excuse my indiscretion of bumping you to this thread unsolicited, I will not do it again. I thought it necessary for a few reasons…

To keep a promise I made to the veterans I have been speaking with.

To remind us of the dangers in complacency

To remind us attacks by socialism, prey on American indifference unceasingly.

And ask us all to support one another no matter what distance may separate us.

Thank you for your patience with me and I hope you all feel as I do these are important points to address.

Sincerely Matthew

No, Carol the rule was never written down, I believe some one made stand against the rule and a local judge sympathised with him, preventing the city from being embarrassed by such stupid enforcement.

I hope you can make it lets pray for good weather too.

Is Deefield Beach being run by ex-Taliban folks? They also had a big ban on kite flying. Civil Disobedience????? What the....? I used to fly the Gyrocopter kites on the beach. They were INCREDIBLE. It was the wind-powered spinning propellors that kept them in the air. I used to be very skillful with those Gyrocopter kits. I could make them land on sand and take off, hover in front of any condo balcony I wanted, and even make them hover exactly 5" over the ta-ta's of women lying on their backs on the sand.
