I was listening to Dr. Laura and was reminded how the left came out against her speaking her mind on TV. So I did some searching and pulled a few paragraphs;

Demonstrators don't advocate censorship, said Joan Garry, speaking for the gay and lesbian alliance. But, she added, "freedom of speech does not give one a free license to denigrate and defame one community, and Laura does that time and time again."

“The fact remains that CBS and its affiliates knew what they were buying when they plunked down millions for ‘Dr. Laura.’ If they didn’t know when they paid that kind of money, that’s gross business incompetance. But we believe the truth is worse than that: Channel 2 and CBS knew the hate they were buying, and figured the profit to be made was worth it, ethics be damned.”

She “counsels” over the airwaves with advice that is directly contrary to that given by all the major professional associations related to her subject matter--including the American Psychiatric Assn. and the American Psychological Assn. With a doctorate in physiology, not psychiatry nor psychology, Schlessinger passes off bigotry as professional advice, trading on her “Dr.” label."

The Coalition is spearheading local opposition to Laura Schlessinger by organizing a 3 p.m., Saturday, April 15 picket of the station at 633 N. McClurg Court, Chicago to protest their plan to air her show"
