The DC Chapter did a Stealth FReep of Hollywood liberal Tim Robbins this afternoon at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
Kristinn will be appearing on "Scarborough Country" hosted by former Florida Congressman and Conservative, Joe Scarborough. The program begins at 10:00pm, EDT.

Right now we’ve got Kristinn Taylor, and he’s the co-leader of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of Free Republic. And he’s here to talk to us about an event that he held today in Washington D.C.
Welcome to our show, Kristinn, and tell us about your event where you and other Free Republic people acted as human shields.
KRISTINN TAYLOR, FREE REPUBLIC: That’s right, Joe. We heard about Tim Robbins’ comments threatening Lloyd Grove. And we thought that, you know, he and the other reporters might need protection from Tim Robbins. So we went down there to offer our services as human shields, just in case Robbins was asked a question that he didn’t like. And the reporters were most appreciative of it, I must say.
SCARBOROUGH: I bet they were. Now did anything happen, like, for instance, when he drove up in his limousine and opened the door, did he bump you or did his bodyguard come out and push the human shields out of the way or was it a fairly peaceful day?
TAYLOR: We didn’t even see him. He went in the back door. We were very surprised. You know the National Press Club building, it’s right there on 14th Street in Washington. Secretary of State Colin Powell came out and waved to us and he wasn’t afraid to be around protesters. But you know maybe Tim Robbins’ agent said you know you got a bit of a temper there,...
SCARBOROUGH: Yes.
TAYLOR: ... you might want to go in the back door and not risk it.
SCARBOROUGH: I guess protesters on the right are different from protesters on the left.
Let’s go to Michael Medved right now. He’s a nationally syndicated radio talk show host and he’s a film critic.
Michael, welcome to our show. Can you help us out here, I mean obviously you followed Hollywood, you followed pop culture, why is it that Hollywood stars like Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon are so disconnected from those in middle America who go to their movies?
MICHAEL MEDVED, FILM CRITIC: Well, first of all, their lives, the whole circumstances of their lives are completely different. And these are people who get paid and paid very, very well for pretending to be somebody else. But it ends up that that’s not enough. You want to feel important. And the only way that you can feel important is by impressing your peers with your tremendous courage.
The point about Tim Robbins, and it’s something that is astonishing to me, is that he has deliberately made himself into a left wing activist. And what’s amazing to me is that he wants this free speech, but he wants freedom of consequences, too. And the Constitution does guarantee you freedom of expression, but it doesn’t guarantee that once you’ve spoken there will be no consequences. The consequence is is he made himself unpopular.
SCARBOROUGH: Well let’s talk...
MEDVED: So welcome to America, Mr. Robbins.
SCARBOROUGH: Welcome to America, and welcome to the free marketplace of ideas, as Thomas Jefferson called it.
Well let’s talk about some of those consequences. Obviously, we’ve got the Dixie Chicks lead singer coming out and making her statement and then trying to backtrack after it hurt her fan base. We’ve got Tim Robbins, he’s had some events canceled. Do you think we may be crossing a threshold here in the 21st century where leftist Hollywood stars may actually pay at the box office for some of the things they’re saying?
MEDVED: They already are. I mean Susan Sarandon, who is Tim Robbins’ significant other, was in three pretty good movies in 2002. She was in “Banger Sisters,” she was in “Igby Goes Down” and she was in a movie called “Moonlight Mile.” And I haven’t heard of any of them because they-you have to subpoena people to go see them. Nobody went to see these movies. People are tired of Susan Sarandon.
What we want from entertainers, what we want from the Dixie Chicks, what we want from Sheryl Crow, what we want from Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, Alec Baldwin, is people to make us forget about our troubles, right? You don’t want people to nag at you and to lecture you and to hector you. But when people do that incessantly, then accept the consequences.
SCARBOROUGH: Well, and you know the thing is, you bring up a very good point that we do want these people to help us escape. I mean I’m a you huge Beatles fan. I love the Rolling Stones, The Kinks. I mean all of these groups, Bob Dillon, all these people that had left wing ideology. But at the same time, they didn’t constantly beat it over your head like, let’s say, for instance, Janeane Garofalo, who, in SCARBOROUGH COUNTRY, is one of our favorites.

JANEANE GAROFALO, ACTRESS: We are doomed if we go into this war into the heart of the Arabian world with a U.S.-led effort against world opinion. We are doomed if we do this.

SCARBOROUGH: OK, there’s another lady, she’s a great actress. I loved her in “The Truth About Cats and Dogs,” and a lot of other shows. When are these people’s agents going to say listen, you know, you don’t have free reign anymore. You need to be a little more careful about the statements.
MEDVED: Well they’ve said it-Joe, they’ve said it already. I mean take a look at Martin Sheen, the real president of the United States. The ratings for “The Left Wing” have absolutely plummeted, on a certain network I might name, and people don’t want to watch it because they’re tired of being lectured.
What was amazing was in the same night that Republicans were sweeping the election across the country in November of 2002, they had their own election on “Left Wing” where, of course, the Democrats were winning and President Josiah Bartlet, Martin Sheen, was winning. But it doesn’t help his popularity when he appears in-on TV with duct tape over his mouth carrying a cross with the words “peace” scrawled somehow across his maw (ph).
SCARBOROUGH: Kristinn, do the freepers, as the Free Republic organization members are called, have any other plans for Hollywood protests?
TAYLOR: Well, yes, we had a-freepers do great protest at the Oscars, and they were very well received by the general public. I don’t know what the actors thought of them.
But I think a lot of us are just tired of being talked down to. And we’re tired of the hypocrisy of people like Susan Sarandon who complain about boycotts and loss of work when someone like Susan Sarandon was a participate in the campaign to keep Dr. Laura Schlessinger’s TV program off the air. So we’ll be out there going up against Hollywood celebrities who go against what we hold near and dear to us as Americans.
SCARBOROUGH: All right, Kristinn, thank you for being with us and for Free Republic. Also, like to thank you Michael Medved. As always, great insight for our audience.

DONALD RUMSFELD, DEFENSE SECRETARY: I would say that the Third Infantry Division and the Marines and the other forces and units and elements that have been doing such a wonderful job in Iraq have all performed exceedingly well. And including the Special Operations people and the Navy and the air assets.
There’s a whole list of things that didn’t go wrong, that could have been terrible and didn’t happen because of the way that General Franks and his team conducted that. They did a superb job.
This was not a war fought by the Army or the Navy or the Air Force, it was-or the Marines. It was a war that’s been fought by joint forces under excellent leadership, and there isn’t any one service that could have done what was done.

But Muslim children are still being taught to hate Jews and Christians, and it’s happening right here in New York City. That’s right, folks, check out the dribble that gets passed off as curriculum in textbooks for 3,000 students in New York’s Islamic schools.

Just turn on the television in any Jewish or Christian community and see what’s ‘normal.’”
