The Lone Marine Rally, Cleburne, Texas 4/13/03 report

Thanks to all the FReepers who showed up in Cleburne today to help us support the Lone Marine. There were many people driving by who honked and waved their support as well. After a stimulating pre-FReep breakfast at the Burleson Cracker Barrel, we drove to the Johnson County Courthouse in Cleburne for the rally. We assembled, got our flags ready, and marched several times around the courthouse while traffic proceeded all around us. We finally settled on the west side of the courthouse as the maximum visibility location. A brisk wind kept us cool and provided a grand opportunity for our flags to be seen by all who drove by. Unfortunately the local anti-war types failed (AGAIN!) to show up. Makes me wonder if there are any anti-war types in this part of Texas, or perhaps they just discouraged by the many assemblies and rallies nearby. Again, many thanks to the FReepers and local patriots who showed up to show their support for the troops and President Bush.

You are right about the anti America crowd not showing up in Texas, but watch for Anti-left's message about May 3rd in Austin. The "we hate Bush" crowd is planning a demonstration there, and we ought to be there to give them a biggie size Texas welcome.
