The News we Kept to Ourselves

Fellow Freepers, I suggest Jim Robinson add a new "Topic" category to this website: "undercovered scandal" or "crimes unpunished". This CNN story should not be forgotten. We have to keep this alive in some way. A special congressional hearing should be requested and the highest ranking members of CNN should have to answer questions. If ENRON was a scandal, what is this? CNN has real blood on their hands. There is no other way to put it. Mr. Jordan only went with the story because he knew it would come out very soon. He is trying to get pity, he should be grilled. There is an obvious lack of proportion and fairness in coverage, the media was far tougher on John Rocker and Trent Lott. CNN's license should be revoked. This has been going on for far too long. Clinton's sexual assaults allegations were thinly covered and only one was coverd after the impeachment vote. Remember, NBC waited until after the vote to run the Brodderick interview. Citizens have to be tough on CNN and other media outlets that put politics before the truth.

CNN : We Supress the news, so we can Bring you the news !

This disgusts me. CNN enabled Sabddam's murderous bastards to continue torturing and killing Iraqi's, and they remained silent in order to keep their Baghdad office open.

Well, dear, CEOs of the tobacco industry were summoned before Congress for lessor offences.
And it was not public outrage that made them pay the price.

Knowing a murder/assassination is going happen and not do anything about it, isn't a crime? That's news to me. He knew that the son-in-law's were going to be killed...or did I miss something? Also, they all get licensed by the FCC. The public owns the airwaves...not CNN.

I was so ticked after reading this I sent an e-mail to DOJ.
I wonder how long it will be before the guy from judicial Watch grabs his headlines on this?
Maybe we should start a pool on the date and time he files the brief.

I knew that CNN could not report that Saddam Hussein's eldest son, Uday, told me in 1995 that he intended to assassinate two of his brothers-in-law who had defected and also the man giving them asylum, King Hussein of Jordan. Well maybe publicly airing it would have been wrong, but surely they could have put a bug in the ear of the CIA.

An outstanding post! Okie01
A ping to the rest of you media scholars!

How 'bout telling the brothers-in-law...that would have been a good start...he told King Hussein of Jordan...he should have told the U.S. authorities what he knew if he was too concerned/scared to run the stories. He should have been at Colin Powell's side at the U.N. and echoing his stories...instead he waits until the gigs up.

Agreed and have posted twice that Eason Jordan, Peter Arnett and others who were employed by CNN during this time period should be strung up by their thumbs. What can be done? Plan of action?

This story faded on the vine this weekend.
The press is like the cops....they'll not say anything bad about another publicly.
This travesty needs grassroots legs. It's so obvious.
