Interesting live footage on CNN

Posted on 04/12/2003 9:27:32 PM PDT by saquin

CNN reporter Brent Sadler traveling on a road very near Tikrit. The retired military officer in the studio keeps telling him to be careful. I find these live shots very nerve-wracking. It seems rather foolish for a reporter to be doing this, considering that Tikrit is a Saddam stronghold. Just a heads-up in case anyone is interested.

Well maybe when the 1000+ soldiers walked through, the Tikrit joined them.

This is actually an incredible piece of journalism--but nothing will match Greg Kelley's reporting the night the troops moved into Baghdad!

Tikrit seems to have been abandoned--sure hope that's what Sadler is documenting!

You think they're gonna have to kill them for all the information he's finding?

given CNN's cozy relationship with the ousted Baathist regime, might they have given cnn the "all clear" ?

Nothing...just that the CNN reporter jumped in a land cruiser and drove into the nest of hornets to find the hornets have left

Brett Sadler is reporting from Tikrit--but not as an embed. He is showing that--apparently--the Iragi Republican Guard just up and abandoned their tanks and stuff and "disappeared". Incredible!!

This has happened all over Iraq. The regular Army is now unemployed and has no paycheck coming. So they quit.

not so with the fanatics. They have a religious axe to grind and want to se Allah and the virgins.
