More than 15,000 union workers and relatives of service members rallied at Ground Zero Thursday to show their support for American troops fighting in Iraq.
Among the crowd was Joan Stewart of Houston, who rushed to the rally after hearing about it while visiting here. She held up a photograph of her stepson, Cpl. Heath Long, 28, who is assigned to a Marine helicopter unit in Iraq.
"I feel so proud," she said. "I am from Brooklyn originally, and I am proud to be an American and a New Yorker. It makes me feel great to be an American." Many in the crowd along with politicians who spoke saw a connection between the war and the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center.
"The war started right here on Sept. 11, 2001," Gov. George Pataki told the gathering, which included dozens of firefighters in bunker gear mixed in with carpenters, electricians and ironworkers.

Thanks. I ha so much outrage and ire building up over the lsanted media and the anti-American protestors abetting our enemies ... I had to do something.
Building that site was as therapeutic as it was anything else.
I hope folks enjoy it and find something positive there ... particularly the truth.
Best Fregards and congratulations on a tremendous rally and pics!

They are both great spokesmodels for FReedom. I bet they both have brains as well as beauty.
Definately need to get them both to come out to future rallies. I know they probably don't crave celebrity status (like the leftist do), but they deserve some recognition for inspiring others to show their support for the troops.
I'll bet you that their photos are pinned up on not a few G.I.s bunks. :)

You know something? I'm a white-collar exec, but these hardhat guys are my kind of people! I'd rather hang out with guys like this than all the wine-sipping elitists I have to endure during the day.

While I agree with your sentiments about the lovely miss, I feel obligated to say that I think you need to get out more often. Watch a ball game ... go to the library ... play more bingo ... join the singles club at the neighborhood church ... good luck! ;)

Hahahahahahaha, touché. But we, he terminally ugly, have given up on that kind of thing. :) Oh, not big on sports, I'm a voracious reader, and sadly, the church in my neighborhood has gone uber-liberal, a sad thing as I loved my hometown catholic church. Be that as it may, I refuse to go to a churc set up to look like a Masonic Temple. Bingo? Nah, I'll pass, but thanks for the suggestion. Besides, all the good women my age are already spoken for. :) It's a hermit's life for me, like it or not.

bumpity bump
Aren't these iron workers and other union workers the same ones the commie "peace" protestors pretend to represent? They forgot to tell these guys. (sarcasm off)
