Mort's a decent guy, I think. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, though.
But a tool nonetheless...

I sent email to Brit's show lambasting Mort for his ridiculous comment. He never mentioned President Bush, only President Clinton....yup, guess this will be one of the new talking points. Anyway, I reminded Mort that Slick's legacy is one of weakness, apeasment and of course Lewinski's and requested he apologize. :-)

I didn't catch it but i imagine it was probably tongue-in-cheek. I've always liked Mort, he's a good guy and has critized Clinton a lot in the past and has praised Bush a lot as well. Sounds to me like he meant it sarcastically.

Mort has been drifting to the "right side" of many issues given his tenure on FNC and his being surrounded by Fred and Brit, but he still remains a reflexive, defensive liberal apologist activist -- and as we saw tonight, a snivling Clinton-"defender". I almost urped when I heard that cr*p from Mort but it just reminds one: once a Lib, always a Lib, especially when it comes to Clintonoids.

"...and I guess even Bill Clinton deserves some of the credit for building these weapons that have been used to liberate Iraq."I heard it. How about giving credit to a Republican Congress who kept the fire to Clintons feet so he wouldn't totally destroy our military.

I saw what he said. I did not feel what he said was all that wrong. The credit he gave to Clinton was that the weapons that were used today were developed during the Clinton administration. He gave him very narrow credit and gave many others credit too. He was basically saying all americans can feel very good for this and lots of credit to go around.
Look, when the liberals are giving credit to democrats for the weapons they developed, then we have made BIG progress. Don't trash them for this stuff.

It is outrageous that Mort Kondracke gave Clinton any credit whatsoever for this victory. In fact, Clinton's military legacy weakened our military in many ways.
I believe one reason why we didn't go after Iraq right after 911 is because there needed to be some strengthening of our military forces. Clinton through Les Aspin changed the law in 1993 allowing female military members to be placed in harms way.
What is worse, is that the Logistics area was civilianized to such an extent that we had a lessoned ability for our troops to defend themselves in back of the convoys.
So much is civilianized that much of what used to be done by the military is now done by contractors. Of course, contractors are not going to be on the field of battle so it was left up to our troops to carry all the needed supplies and they were not embedded with the protection that was needed.
I am sure this problem will be looked at in the future but most of our POWs were victims of Clinton's military legacy. Morton Kondracke obviously has very little knowledge of the military or he would not have uttered such a silly statement.
He just couldn't stand that we are winning and had to stick his tongue out someway.

We had might as well get ready for the media legacy machine to shift into full gear and give all of the credit to Bubba. Also, I would not put it past Bubba/Jimmah/Jesse to enter from stage left and try to grab the credit when the shooting is over.
To: RightFighter
I predicted this just before the war started but I said Clinton would be the one to come out and say it

I agree with mort. If clinton hadn't been such a p*ss-poor, lying, traitorous, vile, disgusting pervert of a president, we would not have felt the need to crawl over broken glass in order to get rid of that hideous administration. That is the only credit clinton will ever get from me.
To: RightFighter
Take a pill, he was just trying to be nice. The only thing he gave bill credit for was developing these weapon systems during his administration. big deal.
To: RightFighter
I saw that too. Kondrake has either forgotten or is ignoring the fact Clintoon actually STYMIED weapons development AND production as part of the general REDUCTION of our military strength under his "supervision"- slurp, slurp, YEEHAW!
Thank G*d for W, Cheny, Powell, Rice, and Rumsfeld! The grownups are back in charge!

Our dead soldiers dragged through the streets a Clinton operation.
He refused Bin Laden being turned over some 4-5 times.
No response to the first attempt to blow up the World Trade center.
No response to embassies being bombed.
No response to the USS Cole being bombed.
But to his credit, when Monica got caught giving him blow jobs, he did bomb a aspirin factory to get the press off of him.
Clinton was lucky in that the internet was discovered an expectation of commerce make stock markets roar. It was a sham and a major recession reversal and $2.00+ gas happened prior to a 2000 election which is why Gore lost.
Thank God!
So explain somebody where credit of any kind is due to Clinton for anything good?

With comments like this old Mort is going the same direction that Garafalo, Daschle, Kerry, and many others have gone. Irrelevancy.............
To: Lauratealeaf
Excellent points!
Subscontracting has its advantages but it is better to have fully integrated units under military command- ESPECIALLY durig combat.
