I don't know if any of you just saw this, but on Special Report with Brit Hume, Mort Kondracke just gave credit for this victory over Iraq to BILL CLINTON!
Bret was asking the panel about their reactions to today's events and the fact that the Iraqi people are celebrating their liberation, and when he got to Kondracke, Mort started in about what an impressive job has been done by the soldiers and the Pentagon, and then he said "...and I guess even Bill Clinton deserves some of the credit for building these weapons that have been used to liberate Iraq."
Did I miss something during Clintoon's time in office? I thought he was busy porking interns, and I had no idea that he was hard at work building missiles that would one day be used to liberate Iraq.

I saw it. Those people never tire of being Monicas.

Maybe it was the Mort and Monica show coming out as a rerun.

There were no weapons left! Klinton used them all up in Serbia. We had to rebuild stockpiles! And he wasn't porking interns - remember - he finished himself.

Mort's a decent guy, I think.
Not the sharpest tool in the shed, though.
To: RightFighter
I heard it. He said we should thank Clinton for the weapons. I wish someone would have taken him to task on that. They just let it go.

You sure he didn't say it "tongue-in-cheek"?
I remember that Xlinton wiped out our supply of cruise missiles during Kosovo. We were dangerously low. Probably the military made sure production went up.

Before everyone starts falling over backwards to Freep Kondracke (heh) he has, on several instances, lambasted the Clinton administration and liberals. He's alright in my book. He's more lib than most at FOX, but he doesn't toe the liberal line and he's not an extremist. He's alright in my book. I don't agree with him in this particular comment, but he is, for the most part, a straight shooter.
*ducks to avoid the rotten produce my fellow Freepers are about to lob my way--heh!*

NO! It was not tongue-in-cheek. He meant exactly what he said. He didn't take the time to mention George Bush at all, but he specifically went out of his way to say that Clinton deserved credit.
I wonder if this is on the Democratic talking points...

Did Brit or Fred take him to task?

Special Report and The Beltway Boys are two of my favorite FNC shows, and I can tell you that Kondracke does in fact give Bush a lot of credit, and he does it often.

I think in a certain way Kondracke is right. If it were not for IEX Pres. Clinton, we would not have had Mogadishu as a prime paradigm of this conflict. If it were not for this same IEX, we would not have had the previous success of a two day missile war to prove we had the political will to oppose Saddam.
Yup... Mort's right.

Fred wasn't on tonight, they had Michael Barrone and Ceci Connelly. Nobody called him on the carpet for it. They just kept right on talking.

Neither Mara nor Juan were there today so didn't have to answer for their past moronic opinions on the war.
They must have taken sick and stayed home with a migraine.

I think you are thinking of the "muscle of mass distraction" that Klintoon launched on the Monica midol factory.

You are wrong I'm afraid. When he gave credit to Clinton for weapon's development he came out of the closet.
You must know that clinton had no clue about anything military. The weapons had to be developed on the QT and on the cheap, under clinton's radar.

I just hate it when that happens!!

Question...... were some of the weapons used in this liberation developed, tested, etc under the Military Leadership while Clinton was in office? My guess they were.... But I'm not going to give the major credit to the Clinton Administration but I do suspect the DOD, Military were developing them.... jmo.

The DNC fax was clogged today with incoming bad news so Mora didn't come on with Brit...... no DNC fax talking points to tell her what to say.
