Good reply, Zack. We are NOT all the family of God. Only those who receive Jesus Christ into their lives are part of the family. God made a way through His son. He is the door we pass through for eternal life and family status.

I firmly agree with you on this. I was a born again christian since 1975& before that was raised catholic. However through much study &soul searching have come to Know that indeed all holy books are of human origin. The throwing off of dogma was breathtaking!!! One does not need a holy book to know. One only needs to seek deep within to find gnosis, the knowledge of the truth. Each choice we make we must decide which path to walk down; good or evil, light or dark, service to others or service to self. Most religionists, when confronted with this perspective become very defensive and some very offensive because they are very insecure. Its gotta be their way or the highway. I know, I used to be like that.

Oh so now I'm a wisenheimer??? You dirty rattttt...Hahahahaha...ROTFLMAO!!! Sorry....
So those are my choices that you and your philosophy have set for me. Athiests...doesn't believe in anything...not me, not that vain.
Christian...had it shoved down my throat by to many losers when I was a child....can't do that.
And Solipsists....whatever the hell that is, if that is what a dictator is then oh no I guess that's not me either. Damn now I'm confused...damn.
Oh you know what I'm not confused. I know what I believe. I believe that any religon which says I must do what some human says or I will burn in hell forever is not for me. I believe the major religons of the world are the worlds first politics. People who were a little quicker on the draw decided to bull$h!T others into thinking...If I don't live my life this way...then hell I will burn burn burn or they'd have no crops or they would not bear children, blah blah, blah. HA...so then what happens is the people who set up the religon are the tyrants. Eventually a King with a sword emerged and people had 2 tyrants.
I'll tell ya what....no matter what I say I'll be whatever to you, some BS label that makes you feel superior. I know what I believe....ALIENS!!! That's right ALIENS, we get all our thoughts from them. GOD is an ALIEN!!
HeHeHe....man oh man that was fun. The bottom line is I know right from wrong. I do my best to stik to that. I don't even try to explain it.

Interesting. I figured that out sitting in church at 14. I always figured I was alone. I mean what do you call it?
A religonist....that's GREAT. I have to remember that.

Setting aside religion for the moment, the U.S. had a security issue with terrorist funding from Saddam. The opportunity to liberate the Iraqi people from Saddam's tyranny is an additional moral virtue that comes with securing the U.S. Removing Saddam also removes the source of financial incentives to homocide bombers in Israel (and a PLF bomb making factory). Removing the stores of chemical and bio weapons from future terrorists is a plus. Preventing Saddam from becoming a nuclear power is also a plus. There are so many benefits to everyone in this action. Diverting our attention from the long list of benefits to snipe about the merits of one religious group sacrificing for another is really missing the point.

WD...we also went over there to secure a base in the region where we would have unfettered access to ALL the bordering nations without having to move carrier groups halfway around the world and make unsuccessful attempts to bribe our "friends & allies" (Turkey) to use/cross the facilities that we built ourselves.
The military is moving toward the "hot lilly pad" strategy for global projection of power. Free Iraq will be that lilly pad in the ME for as long as we need it to be. End result....fully staffed, fully equipped launching pad for excursions into Syria, Jordan, Iran, IF necessary. I am of the thinking that the round-heeled collapse of the Iraqi military in the face of forces that had to be moved across the globe joined with the new reality that those same forces are at the back door will alter both the world view and the behaviour of these countries.

Quick, cross the road, lest ye become defiled. Leave it for the Good Samaritan to take care of.

Religious books? As in the Bible? I take it you are an gnostic then?

"Should a Jewish Carpenter have to die for you?"
A Jewish carpenter dying for me|you would accomplish exactly nothing.
He never claimed that He was a Jewish carpenter, but that He was the Son of Man. By itself that does not avail; the vital essential is that He also claimed to be the Son of God.
That is the choke point for those who elevate humanity.

Perhaps you missed post #2, which was an interesting play on the article's title.

I should have addressed the comment to #2. I comprehended the "play" but it still did damage to the truth.
