Saddam is probably dead, but the Iraqi leadership will project the idea that he is alive. Yesterday's strike was a set up. They will dig but they won't find him. Just wait a couple of days. There will be another strike. They will dig again, but nothing will be found. Saddam will live in the minds of many and the war will contenue.

I hope that's the case but maybe the bodyguard was there to make everyone think that Saddam was dead (ie, you don't keep trying to go after someone you think is dead..so if you're Saddam and you want to live, then you probably want ppl to think you're dead). Also it raises the question as to why wouldn't the bodyguard have been killed in the attack too? Why wasn't he with Saddam?
