Analysts on now... it's over, as far they're concerned.

That was incredible footage. The Battalion Commander said he was going into Saddam's bedroom, turning on the gold plated faucets, and taking a shower in his stall.
He also said there' be no USA flags raised, because the mission was to free the Iraqi people, but he and the Captain showed a Univ. of Georgia flag.
That palace is in that good of shape. Remarkable discipline. True American Heroes

This is indeed amazing. I was also gonna hit the sack, but something told me to turn on the news... I can't think of anything better to talk about than this for my first post here on FR. Hey... WELCOME to Free Republic! (And to insomnia!)

Should he take the dishes out of the sink before he pisses?

Neat conversation on Fox between Col. Hunt and Col. Perkins, his prior subordinate....
"Dave, you always told me, trust your men...and these men have done everything..desert conditions, river crossings, now urban conflict...and with a minimum of civilian casualties....

I loved the guy who was going to shower in Saddam's personal bathroom. This is cool stuff.

Darn! I should be in bed but this is incredible watching our troops --led by Col. Perkins--DOWNTOWN!!!!!! God Bless him--and all the men, and women, who serve in our Armed Forces (and that includes my son!)

Are we in a quagmire still?
Is it Vietnam yet?

I know this is rather unimportant amidst everything going on right now, but it just hit me that David Bloom would have LOVED to be in the middle of this as the 3rd ID finally takes Baghdad. After all his hard work, he just missed it by a day. :-(

...I was also gonna hit the sack, but something told me to turn on the news... I know... all the "big news" seems to break every night after midnight (eastern time). I can't tear myself away from the television or from FR!

My dad was in 'Nam.. and I always promised myself that if I ever see an American treat one of our soldiers like the guys after 'Nam, I'd be going to jail.. it's nice to see that in this war it won't be necessary.
