You know I wonder if these are the poor souls that were killed after the uprising in 1991 and the Kuwaiti MIA's?

It reminds me of the WWII stories about Dachau Prison Camp that my father told. He was on the first wave of American liberators. They walked into a Hitlerian nightmare. This sounds like history repeating itself.

The skulls and bundles of bone in strips of military uniform
Reading this makes me think that the bones are bundled up (like sticks) and tied together with strips of military uniforms. As if all that is left is just bones. (possibly they were placed in a acid bath and then bundled up together?) Sorry to be so graphic... but if they are in bundles, they may have been doing something to strip them down to bones.

It reminds me of the WWII stories about Dachau Prison Camp that my father told. I visited Dachau in the 1980's on a school trip to Germany. There is still a stench of death about that place.

FYI:
Australian National Anthem
ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR
Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free,
We've golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share,
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.
Regards, Ivan

On Sky News I saw boxes that could be wood or some paper composite with the corpses inside and arabic writing and labels on the outside. I saw what looked like a foot sticking out from some rotted cloth in one of the coffins, the foot was all bone no skin or muscle at all.
To: this_ol_patriot
The coffins had pillows in them from what I just saw on Sky.

Group Capt. Al Lockwood, a spokesman for the British forces confirmed to Fox News on Saturday that U.K. troops have discovered a makeshift morgue in southern Iraq. While the site is still being investigated, an unconfirmed report from British troops said that hundreds of dead bodies, body parts and strips of Iraqi military uniforms were discovered there.

-MORE-
In another building, there was a picture of Saddam Hussein, what were believed to be prayer stones and metal hooks on racks hanging from the ceiling.
The discovery was made early Saturday by officers from the 3rd Regiment of the Royal Horse Artillery.
Captain Jack Kemp, who was the first man into the building, said he believed there were more than 200 coffins, with as many more plastic bags filled with remains.
He went into the building as part of a security check to make sure the area was safe for his troops.
"The first thing I was greeted by was approximately 200 makeshift coffins," said the 40-year-old from Fraddam, near Newquay, Cornwall, said.
"They contain bags, each labelled, and there's human remains inside the bags.
"I wouldn't like to speculate but the bones inside are obviously years old.
"It is certainly not from the recent conflict but it could be from the one before."

This is horrific. This feels like May 1945. We can only imagine what further horrors will be uncovered in the days and weeks ahead. And as these horrors are revealed, I want to hear
D@sshole, Pelosi, Kerry, Dean, Rangel, and the other Democrat freaks continue chanting their anti-war and anti-Bush mantras. I want to hear Sarandon, Robbins, Sheen, Garofalo, Clooney, Glover, and the other Hollywood scum do the same. Whether or not any of them ever admit they were wrong won't matter. They will be treated by the rest of America like lepers, and totally shunned.

From your BBC link:
On Saturday a pan-Arab newspaper reported that Baath party leaders in Basra wanted to surrender to the British if Baghdad fell.
They had passed a message to a Shia cleric, Mohammed al-Bosslimi, saying they were afraid of reprisals from citizens and would want to arrange a surrender, according to newspaper Asharq al-Aswat.
