How insensitive! You are perpetuating a stereotype of Native Americans as aggressively warlike! Native Americans are tired of this stereotype which fails to recognize the contribution of Native American culture to the rich tapestry of American life such as pottery, weaving, basketmaking and beadwork.

I hope the Admin Moderator pulls this post as a bad reflection on conservatives.

Every Native American I've shown Chief Shockanaw has loved it. And some Mexican-American friends complimented me because the Chief looks to be Azteca.

I'm sure it is a great frustration to have such skilled pottery, weaving, basketmaking and beadwork constantly under acknoledged...

What about the Native American woman who was snatched from 507th? I bet she'd LOVE this.

Let me amplify on the subject of "sensitivity," since I knew this would come up.

I am a Native American. Specifically, I am a Second Generation Native American, since I was born in America and so were my parents. My grandparents immigrated to America.

I consider America to have been built by a unique intermingling of many cultures from around the world. There are no American aboriginals. The "native" tribes are merely earlier immigrants, thousands of years ago, from Asia. There is some anthropological evidence of European immigration to the Americas even earlier.

But I don't care who got here first. I consider the tribes to be an important enrichment of our culture. I regret many tribes did not fare well at the hands of later immigrants.

I have been taught magic -- real magic, not stage magic -- by an Apache. I'm told my latest novel is being used by Grandmothers around Seattle/Vancouver for teaching spirituality.

Chief Shockanaw honors the spirits of America.
