New York Times Political Agenda "Outed"
Fox News | April 3, 2003

Posted on 04/03/2003 6:30:06 AM PST by legman

Former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger appeared on Hannity and Combes last night and reveal that he had been approached by the New York Times to write an op-ed piece on the Iraq conflict. The Times wanted the opinion on the condition that the opinion was their apparent opinion which is "critical of the Bush administration."

Is the Times recruiting only critical opinions? Or, are they also recruiting supportive points of view?

I'm beginning to see a pattern here. O'Reilly has been "outing" the LA Times the last couple of nights as well, including the altered photo. What a bunch of weenies these guys are.

They have but one agenda. Anti-Bush; with the possible exception of Freidman who tries to play both sides.

My wife and I also saw that.
She was surprised at how open they were about it, but I wasn't.

The LA and NY SLIMES remind me of the Iraqi (Mis)information clown........they know they're losing the war, but they keep spewing lies. The wicked media - which includes Cronkite, Jennings, etc., etc. - once thought to be "gods" still don't understand the power of the internet, FR and FoxNews. We no longer have to rely on their spin for news - now we have access to the truth and it's killing them.

Did you catch O'Reilly with Col. Hunt, Major Bevalaqua, and General (whoops, forgot his name)?

Hunt says he has info that we're literally slaughtering the Iraqi troops; upwards of 10k dead.

OR asks why we're not broadcasting this info.

General says we don't need a MORE psychotic Arab world right now; too easy to make this into a Crusade, in their minds. Colonel Hunt says, hell, we ARE broadcasting it; that's why he's on the show. Major Bob Bevalaqua chimes in with, "We OUGHT to be broadcasting it. Let 'em get all these nuts in here at once so we can kill 'em."

I like Major Bob.

I thought an interesting response might be to dip the front pages of these rags in yellow dye and mail them to their respective editiors.

I wrote to Fox and Friends and told them they should show that Fox isn't "right-wing" but the other networks are very "left-wing". I said they could make it a daily thing and call it "M.O.A.B.-Mother Of All Biases".

I then told them of the collection of vidoe clips that Rush has on his web-site. But even Rush doesn't have one that he showed on his T.V. show. It was of Bill Clinton cursing out some minor aide at his first Easter at the White House. Talk about "shock and awe" of the American public if that one gets on the air again.

All you have to do is actually pick up a copy of the NY Times to know the truth. I get daily delivery (not for the news, but for the other sections which are quite useful if you live in NYC) and their reporting and commentary are so slanted that they might as well print a DNC logo at the top.

Well, there's also Bill Safire, one of the best columnists in the business today. Every time I see a Safire column, it is so starkly different from the rest of the Op-Eds that I wonder when they will fire him for lack of adherence to the company ideology.

Major Bob appears to be very well informed. He also strikes me as a guy you would want at your back in a fight.

Safire is their 'token' conservative. They can claim they are balanced. However, the problem is the editorial page bias is being infiltrated into the news section. Steve Doocy held up the NYTs this morning and read the headlines. EVERY headline on the page about the war had a anti-war, anti-US, anti-Bush spin to it!!!

Gotta like Major Bevelacqua and Colonel Hunt. Bevelacqua is a former snake eater/special ops type, and (I believe) Hunt is an old infantry officer. General McInerney is an ex-fighter pilot who--obviously--spent too much time inside the Beltway. He's good at giving the big picture view, while Hunt and Bevelacqua are great on the tactical picture, without the P.C. B.S.

As an old Spook, I agree with Major B. Tell Al Qaeada, plus all the terrorists from the "occupied" territories, Syria, Egypt et al., to grab their AKs and come on over. Just walk across the Syrian border; our SOF owns the western desert. There are literally thousands of Rangers, Green Berets, SEALs, British SAS/SBS Australian SAS, USAF Combat Controllers/Pararescue and Polish Commandos who would be glad to welcome them to Iraq. Then, assuming they survive the "highway of death" to Baghdad, there's a double meat grinder awaiting them in the Iraqi capital.

Despite all the claims by Al Jazerra, our intel assets have not detected any significant influx of Arab fighters to help Saddam. And one more thing: anyone notice how quiet the "Arab street" has become over the last 4-5 days? Same thing we saw after our troops entered Afghanistan. Steel rain over Baghdad sends a powerful signal: mess with us, and you're next.

Yep. Use the famous Thoughtomator NYTimes Rule-of-Thumb: It's illegal to beat a Times editor with anything thicker than your thumb. No, wait that's not it. The rule is: The more hysterical the Times headlines, the better things are going for the good guys. Needless to say, things are going GREAT!

Works for me.

With all due respect, why do you still get daily delivery of the NY Slimes?

I cancelled Pravda West (the St. Petersburg Times) many years ago. Aside from it's Marxist editorial board and columnists, it's a fine newspaper in other aspects. But I sure as hell won't feed the hand that bites me.

There are countless alternatives for all the information one needs.

Classifieds mostly... I sure don't rely on it for information, other than to get advance word of what line CNN will be pushing for the day. Of course, I don't watch CNN either. *shrug*
