It's just my opinion, but I think that the Iraqi military wants to see as many people die as possible, be it their army, their citizens, or the Coalition forces.
US forces are within sight of the Baghdad skyline.

Just out of curiosity... I have never been in the military so I am probably not aware of some "rule of thumb"... If there is some military guy (or girl) here please tell me your thoughts...
Iraq is in the desert right?
Native Iraqies presumably know that they are in the desert right? Everything is tan right??
SO HOW COME IRAQI SOLDIERS WEAR GREEN UNIFORMS???

I think they are coming toward us to protect the Iraqi high command. They sent them out with chem weapons is my great fear. Tonite may be an awful nite. We will prevail but the cost could be high. The Iraqis who are running this want alot of deaths but not their own.

Defense officials say increased "Chatter" suggests Iraqi forces may be planning to unleash chem weapong once coalition troops push into Baghdad Red Zone. Looks like those two Iraqi divisions moving south are going to eat hot neutrons if they start chems.

Do we, or do we not, have as standard procedure to meet the use of WMD with force in kind? According to the US force doctrine .. CHEM = BIO = NUKE.
If they gas, they get nuked.

Believe it or not, the Iraqi Army is not a "desert army." They fought the Iranians in the swamps that border the two countries. The vast majority of the Iraqi army is garrisoned on the greenbelt that is along their river basins.
All US Army units train in the desert of Fort Irwin. We are more of a desert army than they are.

Rumsfeld is concerned about the chatter and all of the chemical protection suits that the Iraqis have stored.
Brett Baier at the Pentagon is reporting that the coalition troops have stepped up their protection to the highest level. It is feared that since this is the final push, this is when the Iraqis will cut loose with the Chem/ Bio. He also repeated the report about the Chatter.
