Free Republic Network ^ | April 1, 2003 | Free Republic Netwok

FREE REPUBLIC NETWORK

The Free Republic Network is pleased to announce that its chairman, Scott Swett, is scheduled to appear on the Fox News Network's Morning show - Fox and Friends at approximately 8:00 EST, Wednesday, April 2, 2003 to discuss the Rally for America and the Network's support of our troops fighting terrorism throughout the world and in support of our troops in the war in Iraq.

Scott will be representing Freepers far and wide in this rare network media opportunity to talk about our support of the US Military, President Bush and our desire to see a free Iraqi people.

In a six to eight minute segment Scott will be highlighting the recent nationwide rallies. Over the course of the month of March in over 100 cities over 150,000 people attended rallies in support of our troops.

Recent news polls show over 72% of the American people support President Bush and our troops. According to Fox News consultant Dick Morris, over 50% of the American people support the war even if it takes over a year. "Most Americans understand that removing Saddam Hussein's regime from power is an integral part of the War on Terror, and we want to honor those who are accomplishing this tough and dangerous job," said Swett in a pre-broadcast interview. "As for those who claim war never solves anything, let them take the matter up with the Taliban."

Join us and please share your support with Scott as he heads into downtown Washington D.C. to talk with Fox and Friends about Freepers!

Well, that could probably have been worse. They trimmed down my time a bit because of all the breaking news this morning, but at least I got on. Given a bit more time I'd have mentioned that Saddam's regime can't win on the battlefield; their only hope -- as Peter Arnett pointed out so clearly in his last Baghdad interview -- is that their friends around the world and in America will succeed in turning public opinion against the war. That isn't happening, and they're running out of time.

While waiting to go on, I had a nice talk with Congressman Nethercutt of Washington state. When I told him why I was there and what we do, he said that's great -- there was a big rally in the district right next to his the other day. I said we knew about that one (thanks, Libertina!) and he said to keep up the great work.

A few minutes later I talked with two retired Air Force generals, Maj. Gen. Burton Moore and Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney. Total of 5 stars, for those of you keeping score at home. I managed to refrain from giving these gentlemen my opinions on proper war tactics. They also lit up when I described the massive grassroots rallies around the country and a recent Fox News poll saying that 63% of the public views the anti-war protestors unfavorably, and we agreed that this has to be the fastest moving quagmire anyone can recall. They both shook my hand and said thanks, that what we're doing makes a difference.

The rally in Tampa on Saturday, April 5th with Glenn Beck is actually in CLEARWATER, FL. Governor Bush is supposed to be there with his posse; maybe Columba will be with him. There will also be ENTERTAINMENT and Tampa Bay freepers.

There are two threads on the Clearwater billed to be HUGE rally and it's listed at www.freerepublic.org.

I don't believe there's a Tampa rally other than the rallys that they have every Friday evening outside of MacDill Air Force Base. Fregards, FV

The stated meeting point is in the parking lot behind the bandshell at Coachman Park in Clearwater before the start time of 10:00 am. You can recognize us by our enthusiasm and our red, white and blue clothing. Bring one and all and bring a flag.

All right! Outstanding presentation. Cool, calm, collected, coherent. Good eye contact with the audience. Couldn't have been better. Thank you for representing so many people so well. I hope FOX realizes they have been missing this story. They should run this segment again and include a series of scenes from pro-American demonstrations all over the country.

Glenn Beck used to live in Tampa Bay. I saw him at the Tax Relief Rally in June of 2001. He does not stand out in a crowd but Glenn's smart with appropriate dramatic pauses. Drive careful, ya hear and bring a friend or two.

Has FR ever had a two-word "quote of the day"?

If not, Scott's "peace riots" phrase should be the first!

Hey IT!!

I only have one question. Why is it that YOU can get abner out of bed in the morning so easily and I have to fight with her for an hour? Sure... tell me it's that "star" status you have acquired....

Great job!
