Has Hannity 86ed David Hackworth

Has Sean Hannity axed his daily updates by Col. Hackworth?
If not he should. I would bet good money he is the unnamed Col. calling Rumsfeld "McNamarra Redux" cited in The New York Times, and questioning the war srategy. He has shown his disdain for Rummy in the recent past. But I bet he didn't go into detail unless under the condition of anonimoty with the times in order to preserve his talk show circuit gig during the war. He seeks relevancy when his time is long past. He hasn't served since Vietman. He has been long been a critic of the brass at the pentagon going back to Desert Storm. Possibly due to his retirement without stars on his shoulders. He was outspoken on his opposition to the war for strategic reasons. He said that our troops lacked proper training for chem and bio-warfare. The attack has far too well for him as he has been proven wrong over and over again.
Hackworth is a hack.

Say goodbye to FR, granny. ....And do me a favor, will ya? Ask your friends at DUh what it feels like to KNOW that GWB is going win at least 45 states in Nov. '04.

I have a feeling FOX has (shall we say) released Hack from any obligation to appear. The reason I say that is because when he was appearing on several shows and badmouthing the equipment of our military - nobody seemed to be making any comments against him. Hack said the chem/bio suits and masks were not adequate and that it was putting our military in danger. He also made suggestions that other pieces of equipment were substandard and would not keep our men safe.
Suddenly, Ollie North almost went ballistic on one particular program and, although he didn't call Hack by name, it was quite obvious Ollie was totally upset with what Hack had been saying. Ollie had a Marine with him who was in charge of the chem/bio training and the guy pretty strongly debunked everything Hack had been saying.
Ever since then, Hack has not been seen on FOX. Although I have heard that he's still appearing on other stations.
This to me again proves the quality of FOX. While I'm sure they are far from perfect, the fact they have stopped allowing Hack to appear is a very good sign to me.

High rank at the Pentagon doesn't always mean nonpettiness. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some of the attacks have a "you killed my Crusader" component.

True, but let's not forget that he's a war hero who has done more for this country than any of us could ever even pretend to.

War is not fought on the internet. Try being a grown-up and get "offline" for a little while. There's a whole world out there full of people who understand the outstanding performance of our military and its leaders.

I have never known why this "kook" was hired in the lst place. He is a nut. I would hate to have served under him in Viet Nam or anywhere else.

Yes Hannity did get into a shouting match with a guest over the Prof from Columbia U. who said he wished american soldiers would be killed, hundreds of Mogadishu's as he put it.
Hannity asked this person (A professor maybe) why the jerk shouldn't be fired by Columbia and the guy told Shawn not to point fingers at him and really got irate. Finally Hannity said "are you alright? Why are you getting so upset?" Then Colmes asked him the same thing. The guest was psycho or something. Really out of control.
Hope that helps some.

Replace him with Colonel David Hunt! I'll give Col Hackworth his proper due for his service to our country but if I had to choose someone to follow into battle I would take Col Hunt over Hackworth anytime.

Re your # 92...
Try the most decorated LIVING soldier from Vietnam.....True. And his accomplishments there were extraordinary...Battlefield commision leading to field grade officer..etc.
This is no ROTC dude or armchair QB playing war-games like so many who have never been in the military proclaim.
The central point is that that his disagreement with Rummy is shared by many in the military...general officers included....Yet any disagreement with Rumsfeld is viewed as heresy by most on this thread.
It seems naive to place the mantle of such perfection on our Sec. Defence....There isn't a field commander or Sec. Defence...alive or dead... who hasn't made mistakes....And there is nothing wrong with adjusting battle plan to conditions. There are too many lemmings in FR who see Rumsfeld in God-like perfection...This isn't reality. Alternately, I agree Mr. Hackworth is self absorbed and has his own bag of bones to hide.
Have a nice day.

Rummy doesn't care for the Army and many of its general officers.
I think Rummy likes the Army just fine, as opposed to the Levins of Michigan, who mouth it, don't do anything about it.Unfortunately, the Army, the oldest and largest branch, has always been the target of every idiot social experiment and stockpile of PC General officers since Kennedy's time, or, in some cases, Truman's. T.R.Fehernbach hit is perfectly in his Korean War opus, "This Kind of War". In the end ,Secretary Rumsfeld is aware that all the bombers and fighters in the World do not win wars;it is a teenager with his rifle that does it.
Now, as to Hackworth,he chose to abandon his command in RVN over what he says is policy and principled opposition to the Viet Nam war.I say garbage. Here was a full colonel who acted like a bad PFC. All his blather about duty ,honow ,country should be held to that aforementioned salient fact. His book,"About Face" is a good read and has enough truth to not be dismissed out of hand, but should also be read with caution.
All that said, Hackworth is a shill for the left-liberal press and glitterati and, unfortunately, some of our younger troops cannot look past his "presence" to see the shambles.

Agree. Let's not forget he's @80yrs old. The face lifts have definitely taken years off, but he fought in WWII. It's unfortunate he's slipped so much mentally in the past couple years. It's probably time for someone to tell him to retire. For Real.

While it's true that most hybrids like this are sterile (in this case, in thought and deed), there's no sense in taking chances that it might reproduce.
Remember: if you don't take care of it properly, The Great Zot will take it away from you and put it out of its misery.

True, but let's not forget that he's a war hero who has done more for this country than any of us could ever even pretend to. He has my respect for his service during Vietnam, but his post service record has been atrocious. And more often than not, incorrect. He strikes me as a man intensely in love with the sound of his own voice, and he continues to make dire predictions of today's military in the hopes eventually he'll get one right. Statistically, he will ....

Granny, these people who are protesting around the world are professional protesters, mixed with the ususal anti-American, anti-western, anti-semitic idiots. They tore apart Seattle during the World Trade Talks under Clinton and have been following the World Trade Assn around the globe. THEY ARE COMMUNISTS, at least the protests are organized by communists and filled with college age dupes and former hippies.
