For the second time today.....I heard it with my own ears from General Myers at todays Pentagon briefing.

He stated that the 2 RG divisions are shifting south even the one covering Tikrit..

I have a sister who attended college until she was 40. Now Dr. Sister teaches at a college in the Atlanta area where where husband (likewise degreed) works at another university. Over the Christmas holidays, during her visit, she explained that she would most like to see 'income equality' in our country. I literally came untrained as I'm certain she is sharing this drivel with her students. So take heart Jaded, your aunt is just a democrat, my sister's a freaking communist.

I'm fairly certain that duct tape was acquired by reverse engineering alien technology - much in the same manner that velcro was reverse engineered from the seatbelts discovered aboard the Roswell, NW spaceship. Thank God that craft crashed in the United States. We might all be speaking Russian now.

Try North Korea invading South Korea in 1950 with T-54's and their entire army.

Or Russia invading Hungary in 1956 with tanks and divsions.

Or Argentina invading the Falklands with troops and ships.

Or China invading North AND South JKorea with hundreds of thousands of men and tanks in the mid-fifties.

The Libyans invading Egypt in the mid-80's.

Syrians and Jordanians invading Israel in 56 (?) AND 73. (Granted, Israel struck first in 1967 against Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon.)

North Vietnam invading South Vietnam after the US brokered a peace between them separting the two countries in 1973.

Russia invading Afghanistan in 76 (?) with dozens of divisions and attacking the Muslim civilians and children from helicopters and with baited mines.

Pakistan and INdai (Several times..More naval battles there, but troops DID cross the borders several times.)

Chinese armies taking Mongolia.

And several dozen assorted invasions in Africa I can't remember off hand.

I wonder how much your Dr. Sister would be willing to give up to poor, little old single mom me so we could have the same income?

You mean Dr. Sister and Mr. Dr. Sister are willing to live on less money so that others can have more? Ask them how much they're willing to reduce their income, either expressed as a dollar figure or a percentage or both.

Oh, and ask them how much they tipped the waiter or waitress the last time they ate out.

Did hear on CNN at lunch that a British network hired Benedict Arnett.

Well, he'll disgrace himself, AGAIN, soon enough and leave them sullied in the process.

I had kind of enjoyed MSNBC's war coverage until Arnett gave that interview, and cannot stand to watch them in more than small doses ever since Sunday.

See my quick reply to this in 2167 please.

Please check my dates, I may have forgotten one or two peaceful socialist invasions around the world since WWII.

And I didn't count Soviet Unions' invasion(s) of Hungary, Yugoslvia, Albania, Checkslovakia, Poland, and East Germany. More accurately, they just never left after they enslaved Eastern Europe in 1945.

The war just hit home.

Just a few minutes ago.

A knock on my door, I looked out and it was my next door neighbor, a good guy, he and I share political ideology and a few beers once in a while.

I was on the phone with my office, taking care of some important business when I stepped outside with him. He waited while I finished my call.

"Sounded important"--he said.

"It was, I've been trying to get a handle on that situation for quite a while now, I'm taking the kids to Disney Thursday and I want it under control before I go. What's up with you?"

"I got the call."

I didn't understand at first, but it came crashing into my mind at the sight of his wife's car taking the corner a little too fast, and at her face.

"Oh my God..."

"I'm leaving Thursday."

"Where?"

I was hoping that he was being assigned to a support role like he was during Afghanistan, he was somewhere in the Carolinas then.

"Points East...Baghdad I think, for a year"--he said.

The irony struck me in the face like a slap, we were leaving for Disney World Thursday, he was going elsewhere to make damned sure that four year-old little boys would celebrate their birthdays in Disney for many years to come.

Just last week he sat with my wife and I in our living room, and talked about how he felt bad that he wasn't there doing his share.

I didn't know what to do, I shook his hand and looked across my front lawn at his wife standing on their driveway, then back at him.

"Take care man, come back safe"--I was visibly upset.

"I'll get good pictures"--he said.

I waved at his wife, and said the only thing that came to my mind.

"My flag is going back up, an it's staying up until this soldier comes home."

I am sitting here with a triangle at my elbow, it's not just any flag that's going up, not the nice new one purchased back in the winter of 2001, it's and old, tattered one, with frayed edges.

Jimmy would have wanted it this way.

Aren't we all going to feel silly if this story about the MIA marines ends up being true....LOL

I believe it is true.

The McClatchy News Service is a reputable wire service, and the bylined reporter, Sharon Schmickle, is an embedded reporter at Camp Viper, Kuwait.

Chack one up for the good guys.

Learning Sunday that they had been considered missing in action was only the latest nightmare for eight Marines whose M1A1 Abrams tanks broke down in the Iraqi desert and lost contact with U.S. forces.

On Monday, for the first time, the Marines told the story of their 11-day ordeal that began March 20 when the United States invaded Iraq from Kuwait. The Marines' 2nd Tank Battalion was in the first wave of U.S. forces.

According to the article, the Marines learned on Sunday they were considered MIA. Monday they told their story. Why hasn't the Pentagon or CentCom reported this? You'd think they would jump on this. It's April Fool's after all. I would love it if it was true.
