Wow, could I do this? Let's see, what reasons could there be for being a Democrat?

There are only two reasons for being a dem:

1: Utter stupidity, and

2: Rebellion.

your continual disregard of FR's rules is amusing, I'm certain, only to yourself.

Tell me, o' great and wise one, what rules I have "continually disregarded"?

Democratic monetary and economic policies of the Clinton administration produced an amazingly productive and vibrant economy. Inflation was reined in, deficits became surpluses, and social needs were addressed, although a much-needed expansion of health services was blocked by a Republican Congress.

He's either lying or ignorant.

The Watergate debacle led to Nixon's resignation. Economic decline was reversed and the economy stabilized as a result of the aggressive fiscal and monetary policies initiated by the Democrats.

Holy cow! Slid right by Jimmy "the Hammer" Carter and his Misery Index. How convenient.

After Sept. 11, 2001, the current administration acted to destroy the al-Qaida organization and, supported by nearly every country in the world and all Democrats, took effective military action against the Taliban.

All Democrats?

I don't think so.

"Mr. Sorrell does not appear to be aware that during the Truman administration, the United Nations brought together the forces that resisted - and in the end defeated - the North Korean and Chinese armies that attacked South Korea."

Sorry. I was around then. I sure didn't (and still don't to this day) see much "defeat" in the NK and chinese armies. And, by the way, the fighting only stopped after a republican by the name of Eisenhower became president.

What is it about the name "Baldwin?" I wonder if this guy is any relation to the seditious Baldwin who was the founder of the ACLU?

We have also gone to war with Iraq. Everyone supports our armed forces, but a final judgment is yet to be made.

This says it all. Just before this comment, the author praises the Dems for supporting our role in Afghanistan. Rather than say they are supporting the right side in the current conflict, the author, like all Democrats, waits for the outcome before announcing his support or opposition.

THAT's how they claim credit for all that is good and distance themselves from all that fails.

>>Carter deserves full credit for the hostages release..."

And blame for them being hostages. And even more.

Remember the year - 1979

The year that WW4 started.

Remember the man - Jimmy Carter

The man who allowed it to happen.

"The Republican administrations of Reagan and Bush were marked by grossly increasing deficits. Reagan's tax cuts and failed ``trickle down" economic policies lead to serious recession."

Reagan did such a crappy job that he got re elected in a landslide, ended the Cold War, and got his vice president elected.

"Misguided arrangements with Saddam Hussein allowed his evil regime to flourish unchecked. An international alliance supported by the U.N. under President Bush I defeated Iraq in the Gulf War, but failed to depose Hussein and establish a democratic Iraq."

Not that Clinton had a clue when he was president for 8 years.

"But instead of ``appeasement, passivity and isolationism" as Mr. Sorrell claims, the Clinton administration acted in alliance with Europeans to defeat ``ethnic cleansing" and restore peace in the Balkans."

Which all happened outside of the UN and without Congress authorization, which is unlike the Iraq war we are waging today.

Who is the guy trying to kid? You mean they gave us NOW. As for Social Security. They have spent that and the largest group may never see it because the money has been used for other things and this group may see retirement at age 70, in other words, instead of receiving, we will still be paying. So much for the Securities Exchange Commission. Where were they when all of the so called glorious companies went under? I believe that some of the Democrats started the civil rights thing because true discrimination should not be tolerated; but we should be passed that now and the only reason it is still alive is for people like Jesse Jackson shaking down corporations and to buy votes. I do think the people are wiser now. I believe it was Ronald Regan's administration who brought an end to the cold war and communisium is still here with us in the form of liberals. Jimmy Carter did nothing but hand us over to the terrorists. Remember Kennedy and Cuba and God help us with the Clintons. They just tried to finish the job that Carter started. Nixon was a crook; but was superior in his knowledge of foreign policy. The first Bush, a good man, should have gotten Saddam and no new taxes got him. And the Clintons have done everything they can and are still trying to destroy everything decent in America. Finally, America has another real leader, George W. Bush, a decent and honest man who is saving America. And by God, we aim to keep him.
