Moose was reluctant to release the suspects' race throughout the manhunt, because he had agreed with the Justice Department to end racial profiling in the county

What a moron. If the eyewitness says the bad guy was black, why look for a white man? It's not profiling, it's common sense. Of course, when political correctness arrived, common sense ran out the back door, never to be heard from again.

He should be charged with Obstruction of Justice, or even as an accessory.

He'll get a raise and a promotion.

Moose needs to be held accountable for his derelictin of duty. I hope some of the victims families file lawsuits and force all the facts into the conciousness of the general public.

So the police had information about black suspects in a dark car so they stopped white men in a white van because Chief Moose did not want any racial profiling. They also used the investigation to focus on legal gun owners. I smell a large rat the size of a moose.

Yet the sniper task force, led by Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose, ignored the early eyewitness account and focused instead on a white suspect in a white vehicle, according to MCPD investigators, who are now speaking out about what they call racially correct "tunnel vision" during the nation's largest manhunt.

With book deals and movie rights in his sights, he was probably distracted.

"Suspecting the Michaels shooting was connected, one of Moose's homicide detectives canvassed the shopping center there, a senior investigator says. He took a statement from a Papa John's Pizza employee working two doors down from Michaels, who said he heard the rifle report and turned to see "two black males with short hair" driving slowly away in a dark-colored "beat-up vehicle," the source said."

The jury is in: Chief Moose is an incompetent a-hole, at best.

If this report is true, Moose screwed up big time and should be pressured to resign.

Even after the police started receiving the phone calls from a man who was clearly black (based on his voice), they never released a description of the perps.

Here's hoping that Chief Moose comes to a bad end in Iraq. Alone, of course.

If the article is correct, Moose deliberately gave false information about the suspects to the investigating officers. I wonder what would happen to the average citizen who deliberately gave false information to investigating officers in a murder case.

More on Moose from the other day:

Moose

Moose won't be going to Iraq, he's a commander of a security force at Andrew's AFB.

I don't understand this story. Why would the police want to cover up the real suspects? Didn't they want to catch the snipers so the killings would stop? Doesn't make them look bad when the snipers keeps picking people off and they keep looking and looking for the suspect? This story confuses me. hmmmm...

A Montgomery County ethics panel ruled last week that the 49-year-old chief cannot cash in on his role in the sniper manhunt with planned book and movie deals.

Ten bucks says he quits and cashes in.

I think the sniper case is an excellent example of media bias. If the shooters had been white, right-wing, milita members, gun nuts, NRA members, etc.; the media would have dragged it on for weeks. TIME magazine would have run long-winded soliloquies on the dangers of guns and right-wingers with guns. There would have been a 20/20 specials and internet "in-depth" studies.

But because these two are black muslims, it was dropped like a hot potato.

** He took a statement from a Papa John's Pizza employee working two doors down from Michaels, who said he heard the rifle report and turned to see "two black males with short hair" driving slowly away in a dark-colored "beat-up vehicle," the source said.

The witness told the detective the men were "laughing and high-fiving themselves" as they left the parking lot, according to the investigator, who requested anonymity. The car then sped up as it exited the parking lot, as if "fleeing the scene," as the witness reportedly put it.**

Why didn't this get into the mainstream media? Race??
