Police say the pizza deliveryman wasn't responsible for burning an anti-war protest sign.
But police said he was not responsible for burning an anti-war protest sign in the 2400 block of Kingman Boulevard.
McKillop, 58, said he was on his way to work Friday shortly after he saw NBC's Tom Brokaw become overcome with emotion during television coverage of the war in Iraq.

Yeah, Dominoes gives me the trots. Whoosh.
Now this is a legitmate Freedom of Speech issue, unlike the phony ones claimed by Natalie Maines and Martin Sheen.
Notice that the Left has a real problem with people other than themselves speaking their mind...
Michael Moore is a pig, but based on some of his past comments, I'll bet he wouldn't have reported this to the cops. However, little Leftist Nazi Schmitt did! ;-)
Ungh...gotta go...
Well, I'm not all that fond of making Pizza Pies anyway.
Of course the employee was correct in saying he should be fired. However, IF I were his boss, I'd consider re-hiring him and asking him to make sure it didn't happen again. I mean it's not like the guy spit on someones food, is it? Do you fire people because they make one minor error?
As I suggested, I think Tom Mohaghan would have re-hired him.
Which of course wasn't the point of your first post.
I mean it's not like the guy spit on someones food, is it?
He didn't murder anyone either, what's the point?
Do you fire people because they make one minor error?
No, this wasn't minor as far as the employer was concerned, nor would I concider it so. Think about what this guy did while he was supposed to be working. Even he himself knew he would lose his job.
As I suggested, I think Tom Mohaghan would have re-hired him.
I doubt it, if he would it would be a poor business decision in my view. You seem to be disturbed by this because you agree with the guy's point. I'm guessing you might think differently if he had done it to someone who had a different sign in the window. Say perhaps an NRA sign, or a flag, or an anti abortion message.
He did it, it was thoughtless, it showed no self control, it showed poor judgement and he admitted it like a man and moved on.
One could speculate that he was delivering pizzas for a reason, possibly inappropriate behavior in the past.
Oh well, carry on.
Idiotic is more like it.
No? It was precisely the point of my first post where I said.... If Tom Monaghan still owned the company I think he'd make sure this guy was re-hired. I know I would.
Oh well, carry on.
Okay. You and I just have different philosophies of evaluating and considering giving a person a second chance. If I had an employee who performed their job well I would consider giving them a second chance, even if they had "lectured" someone about their NRA sticker. I can separate politics from work relationships, personal friendships, and entertainment.
Me too. It's not about politics, it's about doing your job and using good judgement. He stopped his job, went up to a private residence, and while on the job, in uniform, verbally accosted someone with whom he disagreed.
It is bizzare behavior. A danger sign for an employer. This guy has problems, not to mention, mixing politics and business is bad business.
My employees are instructed to keep all relationships with customers and the public on a business level.
My last word on the subject. Regards
Guess again. What law says you can't knock on someones door and tell them you think they're a jerk? If he went over the line he'd be in jail. He's NOT in jail. His only mistake was in wearing a company logo while doing it.
