Hopeless Alert Call from Brazil

by Olavo de Carvalho

http://www.olavodecarvalho.org

When I wrote that Brazilian people was being indoctrined into furious anti-American rage by local press, some readers said I was overstating my argument.

Now to the facts.

This poll was made last week among the readers of O Globo, one of the main Brazilian newspapers. The question was: 'Which of these three men is the more dangerous for mankind?' The answers were:

Saddam Hussein (7.31%);

Osama bin Laden (11.46%);

George Bush (81.23%).

So, I insist: (1) All Brazilian newspapers and TV channels are utterly anti-American. You can?t imagine the huge amount of pro-Saddam lies we have been reading and hearing here since the war started. (2) Even the Brazilian remaining right, specially among the military, is anti-American. (3) Brazilian government is closely associated to Colombian Farc, to Fidel Castro and to Hugo Chávez. Its seemingly moderate behaviour in economy matters is no more than a diversionist tactics adopted in order to gain time while the creation of a revolutionary police state is being carefully prepared. (4) Your Ambassador here does absolutely nothing to fight anti-American lies and she even gave the leftwing candidate Lula a generous helping hand in 2002 elections, saying to the press he was 'the incarnation of the American dream?' (so was also the poor indian boy Hugo Chávez, I presume). (5) It's really dangerous, both professionally and physically, to be pro-American in Brazil.

If American conservatives don't take consciousness of the present state of things in Brazil, some sort of Latin-American Saddam Hussein will rise against them very soon.

Neo-Nazis and radical socialists have been working on Brazil since WWII, but over the past three or four years, they've intensified efforts by using the Internet and other means to propagandize Brazilians. Many western tourists interested in Brazil have been involved in nefarious pursuits against the USA, for the left and for Neo-Nazi organizations there. The situation is now getting out of hand in Brazil.

I heard that Brazil has expressed its interest in aquiring thermonuclear weapons. That's pretty scary IMHO.

Put yourself in the Brazilian leadership ( Or any other poorly managed country ) Clymer's shoes for a moment. They have tons of domestic problems and no solutions except more worthless socialism. They need a scapegoat and America makes an easy one. If the people started using their heads, they would realize that your and your government are the problem so they either stay riled up about America or come after you. Which would you choose?

On one hand, I know that Brazil has been sliding this way for years. On the other hand, the President of the US is always poses the most potential danger to the world, because he controls the greatest military in the world.

"Put yourself in the Brazilian leadership ( Or any other poorly managed country ) Clymer's shoes for a moment."

Thanks for the insight and so true!

Another consideration, though, is that Nazis and socialiists from Canada to Germany, socialists from many other countries and radical Islamists have been filling the Brazilians with conspiracy stories through the Net for a few years. You know, all that Trilateral Commission, Illuminati, Bilderberger, Rockefeller, MKUltra and all the old Nazi propaganda (like the "Protocols..."). There are new evil alliances on the dark side, connected by hatred, and they are helping to blame the USA.

We're going to have these stem cell problems with individual instigators and other useful idiots in places like Canada and France (among others) until we address those problems. Daniel Pipes wrote some good arguments about refuting and disseminating defeating answers to conspiracy stories instead of ignoring them as we have mistakenly done so far.

Example (although it's old stuff):

By the way, did you know that there are mosquitos south of Brownsville, Texas, that are big as crows and can suck your bones out? It's true! And Yankees go down there to steal all the children.

Another:

Many of the French are saying that we in the USA must be picked on, because we are "the big guys on the block."

We must answer propaganda near the level and from the angle that it is successfully used. If it's all rhetoric, it's a good idea to develop much successful rhetoric with the few facts to answer it. Get the majority of them laughing at any who continue to believe the words from the dark side.

This Olavo fellow seems quite ignorant. The reason Brazilians feel this (as do many Europeans, Africans, Asians, Latin Americans) is that Saddam Hussein has never done anything to them. However they have seen American military muscle exercised in their neighborhood...thus the dislike for President Bush. Actually the Brazilian media in general covered the horror of September 11 very favorably, condming the terrorist action and many Brazilians wrote our embassy down there in support of our nation....flowers etc...The media in Brazil supported the American backed military dictatorship in their country and in general although the US has interfered in Brazilian internal matters they have given very balanced if not proamerican coverage...

By the way Nazis are a right wing group while Socialism is left wing. As a matter of fact Nazism was the arch enemy of Socialism thus a Nazi communist is like a square circle.

Let me share a little about them and recall some of their exploits
for you.

First of all, "Nazi" was gutter slang for the German verb
"to nationalize". The official title of the Nazi Party
was "The National Socialist Workers Party of Germany".
Hitler and the Brownshirts advocated the nationalization
of education, health care, transportation, national
resources, manufacturing, distribution and law enforcement.

Hitler came to power by turning the working class,
unemployed, and academic elite against the conservative
republic (and the wealthy). After Der Fuhrer's election,
(the movement) ceased being a political conspiracy, and
was transformed into a fashionable social phenomenon,
party membership was especially popular with educators,
bureaucrats, entertainers, and the press.
Grandiose and spectacular "events" (followed by lavish
parties) were sponsored by the Nazi Party

Being a Nazi was "politically correct". They called
themselves "The Children of the New Age of World Order"
and looked down their noses at everyone else.
(who needed to be "taken care of" - one way or another
! ed. note)

As Hitler acquired more power, he referred to his critics
as "The Dark Forces of Anarchy and Hatred". Anyone who
questioned gov't. high- handedness in the
German press was branded a "Conservative Reactionary".
Joseph Goebbels, minister of communications, proclaimed
a "New World Order".

The Nazi reign of terror began with false news reports
about the Jews, Bohemians and Gypses who were said to
be arming themselves to overthrow the "New World
Order", and Hitler demanded that all good German people
register their guns so that they wouldn't fall into the
hands of "terrorists and madmen". "Right-wing"
fanatics of the "Old Order" who protested firearms
registration were arrested by the S.S. and put in jail
for "fomenting hatred against the Government of
the German people".

Then the Reichstag, a government building, was blown up and
Hitler ram-rodded an "Emergency Anti-Terrorist Act" through
Parliament that gave the Gestapo (Party Police) extraordinary
powers. The leader then declared that for the well-being
of the German people, all private (registered) firearms
would be confiscated by the Gestapo and the Wermotten
(federal law enforcement and military). German citizens who
refused to surrender their guns when the "jack-boots"
(Gestapo) came calling, were murdered in their homes. By the
way, the Gestapo were the federal marshals' service of the
Third Reich. The S.W.A.T. team was invented and
perfected by the Gestapo to break into the homes of the
"enemies" of the German people.

The Gestapo began to confiscate and seize the homes,
businesses, bank accounts, and personal belongings
of wealthy conservative citizens who had
prospered in the old Republic. Pamphleteers who urged
revolt against the Nazis were shot on site by national
law enforcement (S.S.) and the military.

Gypsies and Jews were detained and sent to labor camps.
Mountain roads throughout central Europe were closed to
prevent the escape of fugitives into the wilderness, and
to prevent the movement and concealment of partisan
resistance fighters.

When the Policia Bewakken, or local police, refused to take
away guns from townsfolk, they themselves were disarmed
and dragged out into the street and shot to death by the
S.A. and the S.S. Those were Nazi versions of the
B.A.T.F. and the F.B.I. When several local ministers spoke
out against these atrocities, they were imprisoned and never
seen again.

Public schools rewrote history and Hitler youth groups
taught the children to report their parents to their
teachers for anti-Nazi remarks. Such parents
disappeared. Pagan animism became the state religion of
the Third Reich and Christians were widely condemned as
"right wing fanatics".

Millions of books were burned first, and then people.
Millions of them burned in huge ovens after they were
first gassed to death. Unmarried women were
paid large sums of money to have babies out of wedlock and
then given medals for it. Evil was declared as being good,
and good was condemned as being evil. World Order was
coming and the German people were going to be the "peacekeepers".

Yes, indeed, I remember the Nazis and they weren't
Republicans, or "right wing", or "patriots" or "militias".
They were National Socialist MONSTERS disguised as DEMOCRATS.
(Sound familiar - Ed.)

Look my post was really about the Brazilian incident. However if you want to argue that Nazism is not a right wing ideology...it is a fact that it is. I did not say anything about republicans. Again Nazis were in 1930s and 1940s Europe. There were no republicans there. The left wing groups in Nazi Germany the communists and socialists were killed and imprisoned by Hitler they were his biggest enemies. That is a historical fact. I'm not labeling all right wingers as Nazis. It just happens to be the fact that Nazis are right wingers. The same that Lenin and Stalin were left wingers. So are socialists and communists. Does not mean that all left wingers are socialists and communists. As far as the nationalization and confiscation of property. You're really thinking in terms of economics. Not everybody in the right is for the free enterprise system. The same that not everybody in the left is for the confiscation of all private property.
So again my post was about the use of contradictory terms by the Olavo fellow. And by the way...there are militia that are left wingers the same that there are militia people that are Nazis (I've met a few).
Ultimately these terms left and right need to be used in context.
