These peace people aren't very peaceful
geckogirl

Posted on 03/23/2003 7:53:00 PM PST by geckogirl

First of all I’d just like to say I’m a 14 year old girl in the 9th grade, just starting high school. I wrote this myself.

I was right. These peace-people aren’t very peaceful. Today (Sunday, March 23, 2003,) I was out protesting with a sign that said, “Thank you American troops” and on the other side it side “Keep America free for me”. I also had an American flag and an American shirt. I was with my mother who also had a sign, American flag, and an American shirt. Most people were honking in support, but some were saying horrible things. One man called us Nazis! What ignorance! And one woman said, while looking at my mother, “This war is wrong!” I said, “It would be wrong if we didn’t.” She walked away with angry mutters I could not hear. She was obviously not expecting a rebuttal from me. She thought I was going to be like the other kids that protest what their parents tell them to and don’t know what their protesting. Well, let me tell you I know what I’m protesting. Well let me get back to the point. My mother and I were crossing the street, and happened to be in the middle of the street, waiting for the light to change. I was holding my poster towards the street with the side that said, “Thank you American troops”. A man drove by in a grey hatch-back with his widow rolled down and said something bad to me. I said, “U.S.A!” And he drove by and through water from a water bottle on me, my sigh (that said “Thank you American troops”,) and my flag. I flipped him the bird (sorry I was really angry,) and saw peace bumper stickers all over his car. Ok, let me tell you all the things that are wrong with that. First of all, there were three guys on the other side of the street that he drove by that had a giant bed sheet that said we support Bush and the war and things like that. He was so much of a coward that he didn’t say or throw anything at them (they were strong guys) but threw water at the little girl on the other side of the street when the guys weren’t looking (they had a video camera.) Second, I never said I was anti-war or pro-war. My sign just said, “Thank you American troops”. This guy is a coward, anti-American, ignorant, fool. If this guy would have just thought about what he was doing or have even read my sign, he wouldn’t have done what he did. And anyways, did he really think that a little bit of water was going to stop me? He might as well have thrown flint and tinder at me, because all he did was get me angry and invoke my flames of patriotism. I WILL go back on the streets and exercise my freedom of expression and speech. It wouldn’t have mattered if he had shot me, because if he had shot at me, he would have wounded my body, not my spirit or what I believe in. I believe in freedom, my president, and my country.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

P.S.- Can some one please tell me why these anti-war people are so mad? And if they hate America so much, why don’t they move to Canada or something?

I, personally have seen no violence and no arrests at any rally in my area, Kansas City.

Mike, you can be arrested for other things than fighting your ideological enemy.

Vandalism, tresspassing, refusing to get your sorry ass out of a public street. Open your eyes man, the USA is more than Kansas City.

I suggested earlier that we use subterfuge to identify these traitors for purposes of direct action, and was soundly rejected. Does this girl prove my point? They are cowardly traitors.

These people are mad because they are grown up three year old, who have a temper-tantrum when they don't get their way. They're selfish.

As far as where they could move to, France would welcome them with open arms!

You did great. Thanks for going out there and showing support!!!!!

Because they believe people should have a "choice" about things, but they only allow one "choice" - theirs !!!
It's called "facism", hon.

Young lady, you are in the right group! God bless you and your mom and welcome to Free Republic! The anti-war people really don't have any agenda other than they hate our president. So whatever they are saying, just interpret it as "I hate Bush" and then they start to make sense. Well not really "sense" but I think you know what I mean. They are just spiteful.

I also wonder why they want to live somewhere they can't seem to stand.

It's because they know, deep down inside, that if they really lived in a place like what they want the US to be, they would never get away with behaving the way they do.

They're also anti-American. Its not true of every one opposed to war of course, but the opposition of core elements is hostility to America's superpower status and the necessary use of force to defend us from our enemies. That they're not truly committed to peace is easily shown by the fact they're silent as church mice in wars where America is not involved. Its only when America seeks to defend her national interest that you see them stir out of a torpor and insist our country not do or stop doing whatever she is doing. Let's keep that in mind in evaluating the actions as opposed to the beliefs of the people said to be against this current war being fought by America.

Over 2,000 arrests have taken place in San Francisco. These "anti-war" people are trespassing, vandalizing, harrassing people, blocking traffic, etc. There's very little that is peaceful about them.

My 5 & 3 year olds run around the house singing, "Time to Bomb Saddam!"

LMAO, so do my brother and sister. We were driving thru the middle of a peace protest the other day and they leaned out the windows and chanted "Time To Bomb Saddam" The expressions on the protesters' faces were priceless.

As my husband said to my father when his Aussie commie wife punched him: "Does it hurt to get hit by a pacifist?"

They don't even live their agenda.

They really aren't anti-war because if this was being done by a democrat you would not be hearing a word for them.

Yeah, but it's Kansas City. There are no cabinet members homes to trash, no White House to march in front of, not really that many protestors period.

The ones who do show up are such a great cross-section of society tho... was by a stoplight and this one guy with really long hair, missing a tooth or two and I think some other pertinent body parts/cells runs across with a really cheesy grin and a sign sayin "Honk For Peace!" nobody was honking...

I'm so glad I found your post...a very fine read at the end of a very difficult day for our soldiers and their families. Great job expressing yourself, and at the same time, speaking for so many of us.

Congratulations....and thank you.

You are an amazing young lady!
Honey, the reason these people are so angry IMO, is that they hate all things conservative. If a Democrat was in the White House and we were bombing Iraq, they would not say a word against it. This is about President Bush and their contempt for him. Al Gore did great harm to this nation with his attempted coup after the election.

The eight years of the Clinton Gore administration was spent demonizing anyone who had different ideas, beliefs, and political views than they did. Part of the reason for that was to cover up for the crimes they were committing, and to veil their real agenda, which is to change this country into a Socialist utopia.

Although none of us likes war, you are so correct in thinking it would be wrong if we weren't engaged in this operation to remove Saddam from power. We must rid the world of terrorists and their supporters for the sake of all mankind, even these so called Peaceniks. You had it right, they are not peaceful because this is not what they are really trying to accomplish. They want to undermine the President, and our constitution and way of life to one they feel is more suited to their belief system.

You are one terrific girl, and I thank you for standing up for what is right in the face of all of the hatred directed at you in return. You are awesome! ( Sorry for the length of this, but you were so inspiring!)

"...I may be biased."

Nah. You seem entirely lucid and rational to me.

About the Lefties and hate...

Lefitism = Marxism

Marxism = Hatred of our Constitution and our Freedoms

Hatred of America = Love of totalitarianism

Totalitarianism = 150 million citizens killed by their Leftist governments in the last century.

Every time a Lefty throws water, spits on you or shouts curses, you are witnessing some of their ideology and a good part of what ultimately becomes Nazi death camps and Soviet gulags.

They hate America. They hate truth. They hate freedom.

They are enemy combatants living in a nation they despise but are too cowardly and comfortable to leave.
