Im so glad you came down! We were overwhelmed by the response for the rally. I understand PRO-US supporters are going to be there again next Saturday.

The turnout really surpassed my expatations! Most excellent work everybody. I wish I could have stayed there longer. My wife & 3 year old daughter had a great time and met some great people!
We had to leave early because we had an appointment to get some 3D ultrasound pics of our soon-to-be-born baby. It is amazing to see her portrait at only 31 weeks along! Highly recommended for moms-to-be!

And note the peacenik's pizza-box "sign" on the left. I suppose she intended to make a colorful Peace Sign, but she left out the bottom stem, and has instead replicated the Mercedes logo.

(Iraq has the 'Ba'ath' Party & the Peaceniks have the 'Take a Bath' Party...) -- ROFL!

Peaceniks had signs made on things from dumpsters for sure i.e. pizza boxes, refrigerator boxes, captain crunch boxes, and it looked like they brought their lunch to eat on the lawn of the Federal Building, blankets and all!! I thought it was a picnic instead of a protest! All that was missing was the frisbee....
Peaceniks kept doing the V with their fingers as if it were a 'peace' sign and a couple vets instructed them that during WWII it meant 'victory'. LOL It sent one young girl into tears....either that or it was because her flower wilted.

Of course, if you do the Victory/Peace Sign knuckles-out, it has the same meaning in the UK and Europe as "The Finger" does here!
I really think that most of these people aren't that serious anyway. They want their Groovy Sixties Experience, i.e., a big party that looks like a demonstration. And you Freepers went and rained on their parade! Shame! :-)

Once again, news reporters and tv press have painted us as war-mongers, baby-killers and confrontationalists. Articles coming out from the Rally have been negative for us. I am as frustrated as everyone else about this and am forming letters to several news outlets. This is one area where the anti-US idiots have a great advantage. Since they've been pushing any issue that will get them press for years, they've learned very well how to get the job done.
The thing to remember is, journalists are lazy. You have to feed them everything. You must write their articles for them, in the form of "press releases" that are thinly veiled news articles, and then invite them to reprint it verbatim. Give them the facts they need to know. How many people were there. How many people in the country support the cause. Etc. All kinds of factoids they can then re-write for "their" article.
Have a regular "press kit" ready to hand out, complete with pictures, references, everything. And a little smoozing with the reporter will go a long way. Sugar goes a lot farther than vinegar.
Good luck.

That approach DEFINITELY works. We used that at the famous "Clinton visits the Lyin' King" rally some years back and the coverage was quite balanced. We chatted up as many press folks as possible and they were pleasantly surprised that unlike the folks next to us, we didn't smell like boiled cabbage.

Hi all!
I just wanted to thank everyone who put the Rally together last Saturday. I first heard about the Rally from listening to The Mountain (94.5FM) where DJ Valerie Ferrari announced the time and location. -I am planning on calling her sometime this week to thank her for informing the public.
It was a beautiful turnout. Not only because of those involved in the Rally, but the support from the people driving past was tremendous as well. I know it was said earlier, but RPD was wonderful. They respected our right to assemble and I feel the current opposition towards them from the Anti-War Coalition is totally unfounded.
We met some extraordinary people and the Rally gave us a chance to thank those who serve in the US armed forces and those who fought for our freedom in previous battles. What a great feeling to march to the Federal Building with people who have so much respect and love for our country and it's troops!
During the rally, there were talks of possibly returning this coming Saturday. Can anyone confirm this?
The pictures posted are GREAT! Thanks again for providing us with a way to *SHOW* we support our troops!

You are welcome Nici!!! Kelli and I wanted to create a forum for Pro-Troops and Pro-USA supporters and it turned out wonderfully....despite reports in the paper to the contrary.
I believe a couple people are thinking about doing another rally. I can't confirm anything though.
