'US SOLDIER ATTACKS TROOPS' [unsanitized discussion of MUSLIM treason suspect]

'US SOLDIER ATTACKS TROOPS'

An American Muslim soldier is understood to have carried out a grenade attack on a US military camp which injured 16 soldiers.

A second man, who is not a soldier, is thought to be held.

Three grenades were rolled into three tents housing military leaders of the 101st Airborne Division Saturday night at Camp Pennsylvania, home of the, near the Iraqi border, said Sky correspondent Stuart Ramsay, who is in the base.

The grenade that was rolled into the first tent, where the commanding officer sleeps, did not go off.

But two other grenades used to attack tents where the unit's majors and captains sleep did explode.

'Acting weird'

Ramsay watched as the suspects were held.

"Two men are being held, one of which is a Muslim soldier who is an engineer," Ramsay said.

"It appears he was hiding in a barrack where the attacks happened. A second man, who we believe is not an American soldier, is being held by the military.

"As the man who carried out the attack moved away there was some shooting. He was shot in the leg. He was held on the ground less than 100 yards from where the attack happened."

He said fears about the Muslim soldier's behaviour had been raised in recent days by colleagues.

Interrogation

"In recent days they were concerned about his behaviour and were not going to send him up to the front when the soldiers were going to be deployed."

It is not clear whether the soldier, who Ramsay said would have been in the Gulf for some weeks, had planned the attack before being deployed.

"To be honest we just do not know," Ramsay said.

"Talking to other soldiers, it could be that he was disgruntled. They said he had been acting 'weird' for days."

Eleven soldiers who were seriously hurt were flown out of the camp by helicopter.

Lessee, disgruntled, 'weird' acting muslim. Hmmmm, dunno about anyone else, but thinking I'd have been for isolating his butt for a while in the very least.

At any rate, I motion that he is taken out into the desert, hog tied to a stake with his newly Camel Pheramone (sp?) laden Butt in the air, and left for the camels.

Let me be on the firing squad.

I think this is one of the most dignified ways to put someone to death. Do we still do this for treason? Do we do anything for treason any longer?

Here's one thing that I just don't get.

When I joined the Marine Corps they SPECIFICALLY ask the following question:

Have you ever been a member of an organization that advocates the overthrow of the United States government ??

Now, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but muslims as part of their pillar of faith advocate Jihad.
Jihad = the replacement of all governments with sharia law.

So why shouldn't all muslims by DEFINITION be barred from US military service ???

I know this is a bit off topic, but does anyone have a compilation of links to LIVE streaming TV news coverage of the war? (Would be great to find FoxNews.) I am an American living overseas and dont have access to reliable TV coverage here. Many thanks.

It is crazy how information is being held back on this. On WABC from New York on John Batcholor and the other guy-- it was reported that in Cairo today a Muslim bigwig issued a fatwah against the American troops. This was believed to have sparked this Al Queda attack by a sleeper sargeant in the 101st Airborne. Amazing how this is being reported some places and the others are tripping over each other.

Stop quizzing each other about SKY News. What they have reported is not controversial. CNN is reporting all of the stuff SKY has reported. They are not reporting about the Al Queda connection. That he had several helpers. That there is the connection to the fatwah in Cairo. it is BS to suggest "fragging" or "hot fuse" -- which is what they are speculating about on the news because they are not yet able to report the story --ie what they already know and are being held back on. The embedded reporter from CNN clearly said he knew a lot more than he could say == that a regular reporter would report more but he couldnt --given the rules of being embedded. This definitley indicates that what he would otherwise report is credible an dnot mere speculation-- and most likely the details reported on John & Alexander on WABC radio New York about 930pm EST.
