Black Muslim US soldier is a suspect! ("10 U.S. Soldiers Hurt In Grenade Attack")

(CBS) Ten U.S. soldiers were injured, six or seven of them seriously, in a grenade and small arms attack at Camp Pennsylvania in northern Kuwait, reports CBS News Correspondent Mark Strassmann, who is traveling with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.

Strassmann said the grenades were rolled into two commanders' tents at the camp. When officers ran from the tents, they were hit by small arms fire.

"From our reports it appears that a terrorist penetrated Camp Pennsylvania, one or more terrorists threw two hand grenades into a tent," said George Heath, spokesman at Fort Campbell, home base of the 101st.

Strassman said three suspects were being held for questioning, two Kuwaitis who served a translators and an American soldier described as a black Muslim.

The injured soldiers were rushed to a field hospital but military officials had no word on their conditions, Lt. Cmdr. Charles Owens said from Camp As Sayliyah in Qatar.

The military did not identify the unit of the 101st that was in the camp but said it had been in Kuwait for about one week. Most of the division has entered southern Iraq.

Separately, Strassmann reported, an Iraqi rocket fired at U.S. forces in Kuwait was destroyed by Patriot missiles launched from nearby Camp New Jersey.

The terror and missile attack came as the U.S. assault on Iraq gained steam. American and British forces besieged the southern city of Basra and pounded Baghdad with impunity. But tough fighting loomed for coalition troops as they pressed deeper into Iraq.

I witnessed one of these "events" in Vietnam in 1971. The miscreant who killed 3 Lt's with a grenade, was given a high-priced lawyer (ACLU & NAACP) and a civilian trial...and beat the rap. This after a confession and several witnesses.

NOI is only one American Muslim group among many. Jose Padilla and Johnny Walker Taliban were not black and were not members of this group - but they were Islamic converts. That's the crucial thing.

What's crucial about it? The Nation of Islam is openly hostile to the United States, its leaders openly advocate violence, and they've become an undeniable force in America's urban-black culture.

How do Jose Padilla and John Walker Lyndh's non-membership in this particular anti-U.S. cult make the NOI any less of a threat? Islam preys upon the alienated and the dispossessed. The NOI does the same thing, and they're working with the most alienated and dispossessed minority group in America (thanks to the modern Democrat party and the black "leadership"). That makes them a very real threat worthy of discussion.

He did say that. One can understand his pain; one cannot understand a grown man using what is, likely, political hatred in a situation like this.

I served our country 25 years ago. There were some very strange characters that survived boot camp but were later "re-assigned" after pulling some extremely strange stunts because they could not handle the stress. Some of them went to prison and some of them went to the pysch ward, but most of them were just sent home.

I personally talked with a guy that said he was Jesus until he was sent away. He was *very* convincing and I almost believed him.
These guys are, *and WE are*, at WAR. I don't care if the guy is purple or green or white, muslim or baptist, tall or short, WE DO NOT KNOW THE WHOLE STORY.

I especially want to point out that four army guys are now alive instead of dead(as earlier reported) and I praise the Lord for that, and blame the fog of war on the false report.

Kim, how sad we meet again over such a sad incident involving yet another Muslim. I haven't read through all the threads but I'm assuming you all heard that approx. 15 minutes after the first attack there was a scud missile or similar attack on this same camp? Deep repercussions for our troops - trust is everything.

That's what I was wondering....is the suspect a member of the Nation of Islam? Farrakhan and the Final Call have been supporting Iraq and Saddam for quite some time--and remember that Farrakhan met with Saddam last year.

Look, I know it isn't quite the same. It is getting harder and harder to not have some sort of negative view of Islam. But there is no way you can paint with that broad of a brush. Even if it is 10% of muslims that are whacked (which is probably off by a factor of a thousand) it would still mean that you would be punishing a tremendous number of good people for no reason.
