Black Muslim US soldier is a suspect! ("10 U.S. Soldiers Hurt In Grenade Attack")

(CBS) Ten U.S. soldiers were injured, six or seven of them seriously, in a grenade and small arms attack at Camp Pennsylvania in northern Kuwait, reports CBS News Correspondent Mark Strassmann, who is traveling with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.

Strassmann said the grenades were rolled into two commanders' tents at the camp. When officers ran from the tents, they were hit by small arms fire.

"From our reports it appears that a terrorist penetrated Camp Pennsylvania, one or more terrorists threw two hand grenades into a tent," said George Heath, spokesman at Fort Campbell, home base of the 101st.

Strassman said three suspects were being held for questioning, two Kuwaitis who served a translators and an American soldier described as a black Muslim.

The injured soldiers were rushed to a field hospital but military officials had no word on their conditions, Lt. Cmdr. Charles Owens said from Camp As Sayliyah in Qatar.

The military did not identify the unit of the 101st that was in the camp but said it had been in Kuwait for about one week. Most of the division has entered southern Iraq.

Separately, Strassmann reported, an Iraqi rocket fired at U.S. forces in Kuwait was destroyed by Patriot missiles launched from nearby Camp New Jersey.

The terror and missile attack came as the U.S. assault on Iraq gained steam. American and British forces besieged the southern city of Basra and pounded Baghdad with impunity. But tough fighting loomed for coalition troops as they pressed deeper into Iraq.

Actually, I think there's a quite legitimate question here, as to whether he is simply a Muslim, or a "Black Muslim" - not to refer to his race, but to whether or not he is an adherent of the Nation of Islam. If the latter, we are not dealing with a typical Muslim or a Wahhabist, but with a home-grown gang of racist Muslim wannabes. That becomes a whole different issue to deal with. Calypso Louie has been saying some fairly inflammatory things to his followers, and this fellow may have taken him at his word.

On the other hand, he may just be a nut case who turned to NOI to try to get some stability and order in his life. (In other words, membership in NOI may be a symptom rather than a cause of his behavior.)

It will all come out eventually. There is too much info available on the web (esp. at FR) for the truth to be suppressed -- whatever it turns out to be.

Until we realize that Islam is a political system masked as a religion there is nothing that we can do. If we ever become enlightened we can then treat Islam as we would any other political system hostile to our way of life.

If a Muslim male robs a store I expect the cops to look for a Muslim male. I do not, however, expect them to round up all Muslim males, "just to be sure".

Suppose he tells you that he did it because his religion told him to. Then you look in his religious texts and lo and behold, his religion DOES tell him to do that. Suppose several more Muslims do it and you find that the vast majority of their fellows agree that they had every right to do it, and they are donating money to help them do it, and they celebrate every time another Muslim does it. THEN do you start thinking maybe their religion is not compatible with your Constitution?

You know, I always wondered why Hispanics are called such. I always thought of them as whites who had relatives whose native language was Spanish (or Portuguese). Just like my relatives are Greeks who speak Greek. If the libs tried to tell the Greeks they weren't white anymore, they'd find their heads bitten off in short order.
