Iraqi Blog - Please understand what this man has been through and his slight distrust in the USA after what happened in 1991, give him time to understand what is like to live without Saddam's Regime.

I don't think it's a good sign that Times reporter hasn't called back after those gunshots.

Stuart Ramsay on Fox reporting two men who carried out the attack may have been translators at the base and may have gotten away.

They aren't sure or not if this is who did it. Still speculation.

After Tet '68, we either did not allow locals on base or searched them.

What is a S-2? I assume it means the top guys were hurt tonight?

S-2 is the intelligence officer in formations division sized and below. Above division (corps and army groups) the designation becomes G-2. There's another level above that but I'm not sure what letter he is.

FYI the various staff positions under the CO and XO:
S-1 : Administration
S-2 : Intelligence
S-3 : Operations
S-4 : Supply

Did you see previous page - FNC reporting they were either acting as or actually were translators!

Its Saddam's idea of listening in. Too bad he can't hear they weren't successful in their mission.

It will be inconvenient, but we may have to dismiss all the locals who are working with us.

How can you vet them?? Like here in America, they disguise themselves as sympathetic if it suits their purpose.
