FIFTEEN Iraqi soldiers have crossed the border into Kuwait and surrendered to US troops, a US officer said.
The 15 were handed over to Kuwaiti police after laying down their arms and giving up, said Captain Darrin Theriault, headquarters company commander of the First Brigade of the US Army's Third Infantry Division.
The surrenders came amid the 48-hour ultimatum given by President George W. Bush to Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to leave his country or face a massive attack.
Bahrain reportedly offered sanctuary to Saddam today in a last-ditch bid to avert a US-led war.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,81558,00.html
Wednesday, March 19, 2003
KUWAIT CITY Fifteen Iraqis surrendered to American forces at the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border on Wednesday, a U.S. Army officer said.
Capt. Darren Theriault of the headquarters company of the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division told journalists with the unit that the Iraqis had been turned over to Kuwaiti custody.
A Kuwaiti official who declined to be identified said only three or four Iraqi soldiers had surrendered and that they had turned themselves over to the Kuwaiti army.

Interesting how CNN is still missing all this info. Playing commercials during Ari Fleischer dressing down that liberal media dude asking about the Imman. What is next, pop up ads?

After reading a note from a friend yesterday, that they have a human "shredder" I'm surprised to see any of them across the border a second time. It was pretty gruesome.

Our troops have been innoculated with Small Pox. This would do nothing beside kill a lot of Islamokazis.

FIFTEEN Iraqi soldiers have crossed the border into Kuwait and surrendered to US troops, Initial reports of Iraqi soldiers surrendering, appear to have underestimated the number of soldiers involved

Love how the report about the first surrenders comes even before the report about the war starting!
(OK, I know it's only because "The war has started" war first pulled and then only added later to Breaking News--but it does look cool this way!) :-)

With the safety issue of our troops up most in my mind, I can't help but feel bad for those Iraqi soldiers. I wonder what kind of shape these fella's are in?

Smart move. If the others would get out of the way (or capture and turn over the real Saddam) this thing would be over rather quickly.

I read a report somewhere that Iraqi's will be infected with smallpox and the plague and then surrender with the attempt of infecting the US military. All military folks have been vaccinated for smallpox. Remember when the President volunteered to get the vacinnation before they began on the soldiers? He was slightly sick over the weekend afterwards with what seemed like flu symptoms, but as far as I know, had no other problems.
Don't know about the 'plague'.

Make sure to keep them quaranteened. I have a fear saddam may make his troops into unwitting bioweapons.

I'm pretty sure plague is bacterial, not viral, which should (theoretically) make it treatable with antibiotics unless it's been bioengineered.
