There are still more in Paterson, and a few other locations in NJ.
NJ has become SOOOOO corrupt...too many Pork Barrels.
That is another reason why I'm really nervous.

He stated that in the work he did he tried to convey to them that "you are an American citizen first", but that Muslim Americans he was in contact with largely thought the WOT was somebody else's problem. Ever heard of CAIR? That's the "Council on American Islamic Relations". Apparently "Islamic" and "American" are somehow in opposition to each other. At least in the minds of the folks at CAIR.

MANY OF THE 9/11 HIJACKERS SPENT MOST OF 2001 IN PATERSON. They were in Paterson all right, but I think I read that they were in West Paterson, in a Latin American neighborhood, and stayed away from the Moslem neighborhood in downtown Paterson.
They also ate a lot of takeout Chinese food, which is strange for people who claimed to be strict Moslems. I once had a Turkish guest stay with me. He wouldn't eat Chinese food, because it is laced with pork.

Remember that many of these folks were literally dancing in the streets on 9-11. And now they're concerned about the war causing a backlash?

No, I've never heard of Jimmy Geez. Worth the trip? (I'm about 10 minutes from Haledon.)

It's worth noting that Paterson is the only place in the U.S. where I've ever seen graffiti scrawled on the sides of detached single-family or multi-family houses.

Tariffs under Hamilton were far from high. He founded the industrial park in Paterson.

Funny that the bakery owner has a negative view of spreading freedom and democracy but sees no problem, if she is a good Muslim, in forcing all the world to live under the slavery of Islam!

Well said. It's doubtful that these camel humpers are so unhappy with the USA that they will voluntarily return to whatever cesspool country they came from.
It sounds like they have turned Patterson into a sewer to remind them of home. How did they get here anyway? Who ever allowed this to happen should be shot.

Some were dancing in the street on 9.11, muslim employees at St. Joseph's Hospital, Paterson, were seen smiling. The Passaic County Sheriff dispatched 80 officers to break up the dancing and to stop a potential riot.

Paterson, Bay Ridge (Brooklyn), Astoria (Queens), Bayonne (NJ), Dearborn (MI), Albany Park and other parts of Chicago, among other localities, should all be under FBI surveillance, if they aren't already.

Oh, sure, there may be some isolated instance where some redneck with beer for courage may have hassled someone who spoke with an accent and had a dark complexion, but that sort of thing is going to happen from time to time. Yeah, and those yokels usually get a law-abiding Sikh instead of a Muslim.

Actually, deindustrializaton hit Paterson HARD after WWII and the area was declining before the Muslims started to arrive.
New Jersey and Connecticut are very similar in the fact that both are home to some of the wealthiest suburban communities in the nation, along with some of the worst examples of urban blight. Nevertheless, from what I have seen of Paterson, it seems considerably worse off than my father's neighborhood in Newark (although much of West and South Newark is VERY scary) or my mom's hometown of Jersey City. Still, at least they still have the falls!

...pretend those days are past, but if our buttons are pushed, we'll probably react the same way," Ali said. "Most of the immigrant community would like to emphasize that they're trying to assimilate into America and they don't want to live in fear." Being American in part means we take responsibility for our actions, especially when some practicing their faith are Islamic militants and threaten us with dire things if we dont comply to their demands. So if they dont want to live in fear, perhaps some of them should take responsibility and step forward and denounce the militant urgings of some of those practicing that faith and crying for a jihad against their neighbors, US citizens. Freedom comes at a cost and to live without fear requires responsibility from those who want it to stop those who want to destroy it.

Paterson is Newark without any redeeming features.
