We'll announce the winner tomorrow evening. We're limiting the finalists to newsmakers from this week. And the finalists are:
Hollywood-Hero Hall of Shame Award for March 16th
Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks - For her despicable comment disparaging President Bush on foreign soil ("Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas.") and then issued an apology only after threats of boycotts from outraged citizens and country radio stations

The Dixie Chick broad isn't 'Hollywood'...unless she's started appearing in movies, no?

I think "Hollywood" is becoming a generic term for anybody who makes their living "entertaining" others. And that's just what they are, entertainers. Not to be taken seriously. In earlier times, they would have been called "court jesters" and they would have to dine with the rest of the King's servants.

Because it's St. Patrick's weekend, and because he's up for an 'Irish' role in 'Gangs of New York' can I nominate Daniel Day Lewis for a mention in the 'Hall of Fame' for keeping his mouth shut about the war on Iraq.
When asked his opinion by reporters at an Oscars press conference recently he had this to say:
""The media are sick and tired of people in my profession giving their opinion, and yet you're asking me my opinion," said Day-Lewis. "And when I give it you'll say, 'Why doesn't he shut up?'"

It would be difficult to pick one on the left. This week I've been very impressed by Ron Silver for the right. I don't think we'll always agree with Ron, but on the War With Iraq issue, he not only hit the ball out of the park, he hit it outa town. Excellent job.

So...have George Cloony or Martin Sheen spouted anti-America hate speech this week? (the star-powered hate rhetoric is getting so hard to keep up with)
Maybe you should change the name of the award to 'Entertainment Hall of Fame and Hall of Shame'...
That'll cover more gound, including the 'crossovers' like Madonna who used to do movies AND music once upon a time.

It's not the media who are sick and tired of people in Day's profession giving their opinions so much as mainstream America. Of course, the media can ask his opinion and then get loads of ratings by saying 'why dont they all just shut up'.... and I commend him for putting the media in their place.

issued an apology only after threats of boycotts from outraged citizens and country radio stationsThis chick sure doesn't know her audience. The big songs in country now are the pro-USA, pro-Bush ones. Like "Don't You Remember", "God Bless the USA", "Proud to be an American", etc.
I think their career has just peaked. The apology was too little, too late.

But there are so many of them! How to pick just one? I say give 'em all the honor, and a free ticket to Iraq to serve as human shields! Money where your mouth is, that sort of thing, ya know.

Well guess what, Mr. Diaperhead of the Diaperhead Arab Institute in D.C. How dare you call your organization, "of America," and then bitch about one of its citizens stating an opinion! This isn't the sand pit you hailed from. Here, we Americans have a right to say what we think. GO HOME.

How I do love this man. I wish I could thank him in person, for the role model he is portraying to my kids.
I only regret that he can't hear from the majority of Americans who feel EXACTLY AS HE DOES!!! IT SIMPLY ISN'T ALLOWED BY THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA!!!
I wonder, can we get the media to recognize these men and women celebreties in favor of our country, in favor of our President and Commander in Chief, and supportive of our men and women in the military? Something has to be done to commend them for standing by America, and making the industry realize who pays their salaries... free and capitalist AMERICANS!!!
