Antiwar activist Janeane Garofalo announced Monday that she may quit protesting U.S. plans to make war on Iraq, saying she's being harassed and complaining that Hollywood leftists who speak out don't get enough respect.
Addressing a panel on media coverage of the war in Manhattan, the comedienne-turned-foreign policy expert said that she may "just bow out for the rest of my life," according to New York's Newsday. Garofalo complained that she's had to change her home phone number after getting several harassing calls.
The bespectacled Bush basher blames the media, which she said ridicules antiwar actors "as a way to trivialize" the concerns of those who oppose the war. [Garofalo herself, however, admitted two weeks ago that the peace movement stayed dormant during U.S. troop deployments in the 1990's because "it wasn't hip" to protest President Clinton.]
Fellow panelist William McGowan, author of "Coloring the News: How Political Correctness Has Corrupted American Journalism," disagreed. He said antiwar activists are belittled because of their "silly, vacuous slogans."

"Garofalo complained that she's had to change her home phone number after getting several harassing calls."
These must be her friends calling her...I don't imagine her number is listed...unless she's really hard up for attention from her adoring fan.

Now that she won't be protesting, maybe she can spend some time washing the lice out of her hair.

Well, then, she has been "trivialized" on EVERY SINGLE MEDIA OUTLET THERE IS. It must be a conspiracy.

Garofalo is Francois for "surrender chicken"!
Oh doggonit, looks like I've been banned from the Janeane Garafola fan club forum. Too bad, the day I visited it seemed like most of the postings were from freepers.
I wonder if I was banned for my forum names of "Brian Kilmeade" and "JG is a water buffalo"?
I love Newsmax's choice of font. Because it kinda looks like a typewriter. And if it was arial or helvetica, or times roman or something, the articles wouldn't seem as important.
OK she is sorta cute sometimes. But sometimes she does look kinda uggo. But that wrist tattoo she has is nappy... its a dealbreaker. and she just needs to STFU about politics.
But lets not forget she is kinda chunkified too. And if being on FR has taught me anything is that FAT PEOPLE SHOULD BE MADE FUN OF!!!
Because you know, I have never seen anyone that didn't put body builders to shame when pictures are posted of FReepers. Every person in every picture on FR looks like that soloflex guy.

Oh, yes. I'm sure that Pres. Bush and the White House are terrified of those women in pink. If you didn't see Medea Benjamin on Hannity & Colmes you missed a good show. Hannity called her a LIAR because she was repeating one lie right after the other(just like most liberals). If it wasn't for their lies they wouldn't even have an argument.
BTW, her father is a WEALTHY developer(who "donates" several thousand dollars a year to his daughter's "worthwhile" causes). She is a spoiled brat of the "rich & famous" who has never grown up from the 60's wanna-bes. Who else would have time to fly to Iraq(using OIL) to become a "human shield" for Saddam Hussein.
They haven't figured out yet that this is NOT Jane Fonda's Vietnam. They are going to be prosecuted if they lend aid and comfort to the enemy. Just ask Lindsey Graham and Judge Napolitano on Fox News.

No, she is certainly not wrapped too tight. Especially since I read that she said she wore a dog collar like that of her three dogs because she needed to feel what they felt because she made them wear a collar and she knew they didn't want to either. I'm not making this up as hard as that is to believe. lol!

Is there anything we can do to make her reconsider? She's been doing for the "anti-Bush, er, anti-war" movement what Steve Case did for Time-Warner and what Bill Clinton did for the Democratic-controlled Congress. It's a beautiful thing she's doing and I don't want anything to happen to keep her from her fine work.
I completely agree with you. But I think she has some French blood in her and a little heat? She surrenders. What we need is real red blooded American anti America comrades!
