The Wake Co. Republican Women's Club meeting is today. When I contacted the president this morning concerning an announcement about the Rally, she said she had ALREADY planned on announcing it AND had printed up info. to hand out!
I think the word is definitely getting around with everybody's help plus Jerry Agar mentioning it everyday!
How's everything going with singers, speakers, etc??
THANKS to you and MKM for all your hard work organizing this
not to mention all the valuable info. on NC BBQ you've provided! LOL!

A friend of mine left some flyers with a guy who is making up T-shirts for some of us in the Fayetteville contingent. He was so enthusiastic about the rally that he is giving us a great deal on the shirts. She is also going to call one of the local radio staions on Friday morning and remind them of the rally. She and I are also going to be taking pictures and writing something up that The Paraglide will publish. That way the military can see what WE think of them. We know people who are over there involved in the freeing of Iraq. I recall that at the meeting we jokingly said that the war would probably have started by the time of our rally.

One last Ping FReepers, the weather will be 70 degrees and sunny tomorrow. A great day to celebrate our FREEDOM, OUR COUNTRY and OUR MILITARY.
I'm going to post directions to the State capital as well as places you can park.
Here is a map of the downtown area
Driving in from the West take I-40 and continue onto Wade Ave. If you stay on 40 east it turns right into Wade ave.
Get off Wade Ave at Glenwood Ave and head south. Turn Left onto Peace St. Turn Right onto Salisbury St. and that will take you past the Capital.
The Parking that is available is a huge lot on the NE corner of the capital. It's on the corner of Edenton and Wilmington.
There is another private parking garage that is free on the weekends in the First Union Bldg. This is the tallest bldg in downtown Raleigh.
There is also another parking garage on the corner of McDowell and Hargett next to the police station. This is only a couple blocks west and one block south of the Capital.
I hope this helps, if other FReepers have better ways of getting here for those coming from out of town feel free to post.

Great News!!!
We just received word that Maha Alattar will speak at the Rally tomorrow. Maha is a member of Women for a free Iraq!!! Maha Alattar A Shia from Baghdad, Maha Alattar fled Iraq in 1983 with her family when she was ten years old to escape the governments persecution of Iraqis of Persian ancestry, which included imprisonment and deportation to the mine-filled Iranian border. Ms. Alattar now lives in North Carolina, where she is an assistant professor of Neurology, and is active in promoting the liberation of Iraq with the Iraqi Defense Forum.
Jim Snyder, who is also speaking at the Rally tomorrow, will be on Jerry Agar today just after the 3:30 news!!!
This Rally is coming together!!! mykdsmom and ConstitutionDay have spent a lot of time putting this together we hope to see all of you!

I know I said the previous was the last statewide ping but we've had a new and very exciting development since then.
See dei23's post #128 above. We are VERY fortunate to be able to get Maha Alattar to speak at our rally tomorrow. Please don't miss this one FReepers.
I'm also listening to Jerry Agar right now where she is getting ready to speak on the radio.

I hope you heard Maha on the radio and more importantly you can come and hear her tomorrow. I wish the "anti-war" (anti Bush) crowd could hear her and her the joy in her voice. She lived under Saddam and her story is inspiring.
